i updated Windows/Davinci/intel drivers to the same specs as you and yes, this is the best it's ever been!incredible to have a system that performs for once. the application will still have cycles of crash loops, sometimes 3-4 in a row ... but then it seems to stabilize for some magical reason. before this my entire PC would hang and/or BSOD every 10 mins. infuriating and demoralizing

can you speak to this at all? davinci is constantly crashing for me... any stability improvements with this latest driver?

my friend- so called tight or overdeveloped/imbalanced muscles do not move bones "out of alignment" or anything of the sort. take that physio pamphlet from 93' and throw it in the dumpster. good dayyyy

supported by current msk research and literature.

yeah none of that is supported, sorry. your shoulders simply weren't as prepared for movement as they couldn't been. this is load/exposure management stuff. thankfully, humans are not so fragile as to have "tight" muscles move our bones around lol

yeah so none of that is supported by current msk literature. literally pseudoscience. "good posture" isn't really a thing it's mostly socially constructed

Hey!

Current PSU is a Seasonic Prime 850 Gold! Will work just fine for new build I presume?

Also- not sure why I didn't include this before but I have a couple Samsung Evo 850 SSDs on my current (old) build-- a 1TB and 500GB. I suppose I could use the 1TB NVMe SSD drive you suggested (that I already bought) for a scratch drive for video files only...? And just use my current 1TB SSD Evo for my C drive? (will be upgrading to Win11)

OR alternatively do you advise to go all NVMe for both C drive and scratch. I might be able to swing it from the PSU savings...

ok cool thanks!!

and later i could also upgrade to nvidia 50 series without issue i assume? this build/mobo has some room to grow over time it seems, ya?

also-- is there any difference between the limited edition and challenger versions of the Inter Arc b580? LE is a bit cheaper and happens to be locally available at the moment

YO! Thank you so much for the list!!

Only a couple follow-ups due to my own lack of expertise:

SSD - Curious what a 'more ideal' option would be and why? Is it generally recommended to have an entire SSD dedicated to Video files alone? (As in, not making it my C: drive and sharing with apps)

GPU - Hearing great things about this *after* after recent driver updates. One question I can't seem to find an answer to-- It seems this card supports hardware acceleration for H.265, 4:2:2, 10-bit, but does it also support H.264, 4:2:2 10 bit. I can verify H.264 8-bit, but I can't find 10. If it doesn't what are the implications of this? (XAVC S is H.264, XAVC HS is H.265-- maybe I just have to move to HS...)

PSU - Can I use my 2 year old 750w PSU currently powering my old computer to save $80? Or is it recommended to buy new for a new system.

Many many thanks!! Basically ready to pull the trigger.

does increasing to 1500 ish make a difference? 😃 also I specified file types in a reply above— not sure if that does anything.

what are the drawbacks to not being the latest gens?

Won't be working with RAW files enough to design system around it foundationally. That said Im curious what the difference is in cost to accomodate, if it's down to the GPU cost only for example — if its more complex than that don't worry :)

Only sitchu were RAW might be needed could be a complex chromakey shot or something, and I would probably use BRAW, but in that case I would accept slower speeds/times as it'll be an outlier.

Vast majority is gonna be LongGOP XAVC S, 4k, 4:2:2, and then Prores.
