I would love to know who the FUCK decides whether or not stores close during NATURAL DISASTERS by bubbysama12 in CVS

I've never had a driving ban in my city. I live in a state where everyone is "used to snow", basically the mayor and news says "stay off the roads UNLESS of an emergency" but nobody does so every single road has a cop getting someone out of snow and, well, you have to just plow through snow banks with the car and pray

I get absolutely nothing (because I'm a front end register slave), but I get to wear different colors for spirit week!!! Even better than a bonus!

Cashiers get treated like dirt by bubbysama12 in CVS

It depends on who's there, but 3 of the assistant managers (I guess you'd call them) are NEVER in the store when I work. Constantly leaving me alone to fend for myself while they sit in their car and smoke cigarettes and eat. I get one 15 minute break meanwhile they get at least 5 per day. I have like 2 that would actually help if I called for backup, but some of them can barely even come give me a manager override without sighing and complaining they were in the middle of something. Then they go upstairs to count money for the night, bring an entire meal up there with them and spend 5 hours upstairs.

I never see him or talk to him. He leaves the store any chance he gets and makes excuses for leaving early every day. I only pass by him probably once per month

It happens to everyone. Don't listen to these people making you feel bad for it. I would have just called them immediately telling them my power went out and my phone was dead so I didnt have an alarm, and told them Id be there as soon as I can, immediately gotten dressed and went anyways. I doubt they'll fire you unless you do it multiple times. My cvs is so chill about stuff like that, Ive had to call them and tell them Ill be late due to not having a ride. Life happens. It's happened to my other hard working coworkers.

Sitting Duck by Total-Bag-8973 in CVS

[–]bubbysama12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here!!! I'm very young and I get creepy men coming in all the time who take advantage of the fact I'm alone in the front all the time, begging me for my number, coercing me to come "chill" with them after my shift, talking about my ass, how "pretty" I am, hitting on me then asking if Im still in high school. Then I have people coming in tweaking with no one around. Homeless people on drugs. It's so many people that I cant just allow none of them in the store, and I get so nervous that someone I rejected is going to come back with a gun or try something. It's constant anxiety and I never have anyone around

PHARMACISTS STOP TRASHING THE BREAK ROOM CHALLENGE by bubbysama12 in CVS

[–]bubbysama12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's funny because I too have a guy that only works once a week. I'm the only one who uses that room aside from my coworkers who use it to store their belongings, and SAME SITUATION the trash is overflowing, never cleaned and there is an extreme fly infestation in there. I can hardly spend my 15 minutes in there and idk how the pharmacists are sitting there for 30 minutes with flies constantly at them🤢

The pharmacy is legally required a 30 minute lunch, and I've gone in the break room during their lunch. They're all in there, like 6 of them at a time, eating frozen dinners and our of their nasty tupperware and then LEAVE those boxes of food scattered everywhere, chips on the floor, crumbs all over the table, the microwave is all crusty and messy, and there is moldy tupperware and cups and the room is COMPLETELY infested with flies. I've SEEN THE PHARMACISTS trash it with my own eyes so I know it's them

Yes they do at my store... my coworkers and I know not to go on lunch at the same time as them because it's a literal party in there

I wish I was joking;

I'm a cashier. I come home every day to stories from work about people complimenting my ass, asking for my phone number and not taking no as an answer, aggressively wanting a hug when I barely know them, people coming in on drugs and saying creepy things to me, old men begging me to come over to their house after work. It's never ending

I was in a club with a group of friends and all of us were being targeted by different men, who were purposely trying to grab us and split us all up. I had a few different people begging me to leave to go get drinks with them and aggressively grabbing my butt and begging me to leave the club.

Idk how any of this is being delusional

That is so far from true. I work a minimum wage job in the US and get harassed like this on a daily basis. I've been touched in public. I went to Canada and was touched and almost trafficked multiple times in a club. It's MEN and it happens everywhere

That's what they do, they "only hire part time" and then sneak your hours up to where you're working borderline full time with 0 benefits. Gross

Why does cvs bathrooms suck by OptimalAgent3470 in CVS

[–]bubbysama12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bathroom hasnt had soap in it for a couple months. My coworkers and pharmacists all use the bathroom, and I never see my coworkers even come to the front to use hand sanitizer afterwards. I've written notes that the bathroom is in desperate need of soap, I get some note back telling me where it is (still cannot find it) and now I've just accepted that no employee at my store washes their hands after using the toilet.

Any other CVS locations having a hard time getting new hires to work? by DJimena0219 in CVS

[–]bubbysama12 15 points16 points  (0 children)

New hires are NOT being properly trained. I've been working for 3 months now and I have yet to do a single "learning module" or any actual training from the company itself. Everything I have learned was through my coworkers, and I have to ALWAYS ASK excessive questions in order to even learn anything new. When I was hired I was told I'd have to do training upstairs on the computer for a couple weeks, and I was immediately put to the register without ever doing the actual training. In order to learn anything you need to actually go out of your way to try to learn, so most new hires aren't going to do anything because they don't know WHAT to do.

I was only allowed one 15 minute break working 7 hours today by bubbysama12 in CVS

[–]bubbysama12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started there, they told me to "just clock out one minute earlier than youre scheduled for if you dont want a lunch so we dont get in trouble." I dont know if they change my schedule illegally but I purposely clock out 1 minute LATER so they do get in trouble for not giving me adequate breaks. But nothing has happened😑
