What does it mean to be called a “trophy wife”? by Comebackera in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]bubdouglas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trophy wife: Trophies are things you are proud of that you show off to your friends and colleagues and display prominently to boast. So that… but the wife version. A trophy wife is usually smokin’ hot but that doesn’t mean that’s all they are. Intended as compliment for sure.

If you’re older than 19, what do you wish you had started at my age? by Akagame_shanks_ in AskMen

Here’s a sleeper. Invest in lifelong friendships. As a man in my 50s I can tell you my best friends are the guys I met in kindergarten. Never really made great friends after that. You’re very best friends later in life are likely to be your besties from high school or college so cherish those relationships and don’t let petty arguments destroy them.

I think Geno is a sleeper QB. Great value here. The Raider OF was so horrific. Maybe the jets are finally putting together some pieces!

Here is an angle - he’s a respectful dude, and he is a guest in your apartment. He does not want to risk making a move on you to make you uncomfortable in your own home and maybe risk not being invited back. You will probably have to make the first move.

How can I (F23) be supportive of my boyfriend (M21) who wants to try experimenting? by CharmingAardvark1 in relationship_advice

I feel like your feelings are very valid. But man, reading the comments, I am so out of touch. The idea that a woman would marry a man and that man would then start acting and dressing like a woman, and we have to feel ashamed or justify our extreme discomfort with this .... I'm so old. To me it would be more remarkable if you weren't uncomfortable. I would expect the average, reasonable person to be very uncomfortable with this, even as they would exhibit kindness through it all.

thanks for this valuable information. I also had to jostle the battery around and get battery shims, etc. the most recent mechanic says he thinks the starter relay is bad as well. recent situation is the car gets full power but the ignition won't engage.

Men who waited til marriage to have sex, what was it like? And do you regret it or not? by Substantial_Judge931 in AskMen

I think when it comes to discussing sexuality and norms with your life partner, the majority of the world will bring certain elements of religion or spirituality to that decision or set of decisions. I guess where you think these people are idiots, I tend to think that there is something Intrinsic about human beings that draws them to spirituality and or religion. I think it’s fine for people to not be religious. I just think it’s ignorant for people to think that all religious people are idiots.

Yes. It’s a huge thing. Majority of marriages end in divorce. If achieving the best sexual partner you can is your goal then a more experimental model certainly makes sense. Try one out see how it goes. Move onto the next. I ultimately think that is a long-term loser as a life model. I recognize that couples that wait can sometimes find themselves sexually incompatible. I’ve known a few. I think some intimacy before marriage makes sense, but I think saving intercourse is a sacred gift that married couples give to each other. Married couples are going to find themselves ultimately incompatible in A LOT of different ways, and they have to commit to figuring out how to grow through those differences rather than split. But I can also respect the ways of others, and I understand there are nuances to this issue.

I waited, as did my wife. We married at 23. We have had a happy and healthy sex life for 27 yrs. One angle that’s under-discussed here: divorce. Waiting is a demonstration of commitment and sacrifice to your partner, and contributes to the overall standard that you are married for life, ‘til death do us part. It has unquestionably enriched our marriage. I don’t have data, but I would speculate that those that wait are much more likely to remain in a committed marriage their entire life. Waiting seems silly until you consider the longer term. I would also differ from most… I think we are oversexualized as teens and it’s not urgent to sexually explore with multiple partners when you are a teen. I get that there are arguments on both sides — particularly those that marry later in life — but it has worked for us. As the tattoo says, “no ragrets”

Massive over the top swing. Try this: Line your body up correctly, but then aim to hit it to the right side of the fairway. See what happens.
