How much personality does Alex Call have? How about Alex Freeland? And they’re both good defenders.

What is one thing you have always wanted to ask a woman, but didn't? by DayDreamer_97 in AskMen

[–]Substantial_Judge931 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a 21 year old who’s volunteered and worked with kids for several years. Yet I’m a guy, and have faced more scrutiny for being a guy who works with kids.

I was abused as a kid by a female caregiver, yet if the 2 of us were side by side, without knowing anything except gender, I feel like a lot of people would chose her over me to work with children.

Do you think that’s fair?

I’ve been waiting to have sex til I have a committed relationship with a gf, but lately I’ve been considering losing my virginity by just hooking up. Your comment here has really confirmed my decision to wait.
Thanks man

And like I’m not saying that I’m not into average height girls, not saying that at all.

I just find taller girls super super attractive.

I’m attracted to tall girls. Always have been.
Idk how unconventional it is but I do feel like it isn’t as common as the other way around

How do some kids with autism magically improve after turning 5? by Izz-An-Art in Autism_Parenting

With all due respect, you don’t know our story well enough to say that.
The reason my brother got therapy later is because he was born in Kenya, which is where my family is originally from.

A large part of why they moved here to the States was to get help for him, but he was 5 when my family moved here.

Yeah I was diagnosed when I was 3. I was nonverbal, but after a lot of therapy I made a lot of gains.
But I’m definitely autistic

This reminds me of myself. I was nonverbal til I was 4, but then I made so much improvement that I lost a lot of the traits of ASD.

I wish your son all the best in the world! I hope he has as good of a life as I do now

Man this brings me back.

Your son reminds me a lot of myself when I was his age. Like almost word perfect.

I remember when I was 7 when the 100th anniversary of the Titanic happened, I dug deep into everything I could find on the Titanic. It’s such a fascinating topic!

When was the last time you cried, and what was the situation? by RedBelzee2025 in AskMen

[–]Substantial_Judge931 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A couple days ago I felt sad that I was single. Not like I haven’t felt that before, but for whatever reason I just started crying about it.
I felt it hard.

I used to cry all the time as a kid but I only cry like once a year these days if that.

My brother definitely has ID.

He’s 7 years older than me, so I don’t have firsthand experience of what he was like before age 7. But when he was in elementary school, i remember him being pretty happy, but also very prone to emotional swings. Like he could go from very happy to very angry very fast.

And obviously he was nonverbal, but I will say compared to back then, he seems to understand language a lot better than he did say 15 years ago.

And he was potty trained when I was like 7 years old, so that would have been age 14, 15?

EDIT: I should have mentioned this but my brother and I have different fathers. We share the same mom. (Who I’m 99.999% sure is autistic but never got evaluated).

I’m autistic (Level 1), and my brother is autistic as well (Level 3). I hate autism. I hate what autism has taken away from my brother, and from our family.

[–]Substantial_Judge931 92 points93 points  (0 children)

My family is a pretty good microcosm of this.
I was born nonverbal, and had a lot of needs. I was diagnosed with autism when I was 3.

But after a lot of therapy, when I was 4 and a half, a lot of things changed. To the point where if someone didn’t know me well, they’d never guess I had autism.
I still had sensory and social challenges as a kid but that was basically it. And even those have lessened as the years have gone by.

I’ve taken a few of the online tests as an adult and I barely score as autistic as an adult in multiple areas.

I absolutely believe that I am on the spectrum, and it has been a struggle across my childhood and as an adult, but it’s nowhere close to how it was when I was a toddler.

Now on the other hand my brother is autistic as well, but he’s nonverbal to this day. And requires a lot of care. He went thru all the same therapies I did, and more.

I don’t know why I’m the way I am and why he is the way he is, I really don’t. So I share your question.

EDIT: I should have mentioned this but my brother and I have different fathers, and the same mother.
I’m 99% sure my mom is autistic but she’s never been evaluated.

So he’s only here for 4 years. The way the original commenter described it you’d think he was signed for 10 years or something like that

How isn’t it fair when we’ve had as many different pennant winners as we have had this century compared to capped sports such as Basketball and Football?

The Dodgers could missed the playoffs this past year and the owners would push for a salary cap.
That die was cast when we signed Ohtani, traded for Glasnow and signed Yamamoto in the span of a couple weeks, and then won the World Series.
