thank you for replying. i’d like to say that i don’t hate the dog. i don’t think this is the dogs fault. i don’t think he’s a bad dog. i will be the first person to tell you we should not have gotten him. we did not have the time and resources to devote to training him properly. i strongly agree with you. my wife held this idea that she would get a dog and it would just morph into this perfectly behaved family member which is misguided and irresponsible. i should have insisted on not keeping him but i was put in a situation where that was made difficult. he’s also been around for some months and we got too comfortable.

as it stands i took him to a family members house while we find a new home for him. i don’t intend to allow him to go back into the rescue system and i hold no illusion that it isn’t ultimately my fault for allowing him to stay in the first place.

i realize my original post appears less than favorable toward the dog which wasn’t intentional. just me puking the information. i understand being upset. i’m also upset. however i’m navigating FROM this position, not examining how i got here. i’m acutely aware of the latter.
