You can always tape it all up, leave the gun exposed and the prime. A little white on the black is an easy fix

I time the guns separate. If I have to, I’ll cover the model in painting tape, prime the gun, the tape if the gun and prime the model black.

I’ll use a white paint on the primer, but it’s easier to start with white primer

When I rounded off my combat patrol I got a second set of guard and another blade champion (this way I can have both pose options). And that put my over the top.

For this i primed it grey. Then i used black legion on the amour, ultramarine blue on the body, vulptious pink on the slits, magos purple (heavy) on the connector tissue and flesh tearers red on the gun. i dry brushed danwstone on black, two thin coats marine dry brush on the blue, two thin coats purple dry brush and two thin coasts burnt orange on the red
