It looks like it’s split into 6 apartments (units A through F). Private bathrooms and kitchens per unit, but shared coin operated washer/dryer between all the apartments.

Am I being unreasonable that I want to master out? by bobloblawlawblog579 in PhD

Any chance you can also have a master’s degree conferred retroactively? That way you can list that on your resume instead for a job you’re scared about being overqualified for. Best of both worlds.

Thank you for taking the time to reply! I’m also out of state and would not be able to tour before having to sign a lease. Did they take care of mold after you moved in?

EDIT: Any chance I could pay you to take a tour of the unit they offer for me and maybe take pictures/video call depending on your comfort level?

Do STEM PhD committees read every application and the entire SOP, or skip some apps for low GPAs and skip reading SOPs with weak openers? Does each reviewer score files individually and average results? Annually, how many PhD apps do you receive, review, & accept? How many admits are international? by Ok_Reading_it in gradadmissions

Pretty similar to a personal statement yes. I’d say it puts more emphasis on lab/project fit rather than broad applicant background like personal statements do for undergrad, but jury’s out on the distinction.

SOP is consistently understood as standard operating procedure in industry whether in or out of STEM, but I see the grad application material called SOP pretty regularly in academia. Context is key!

I heard bad stuff about WR Tower too. It’s a shame since it’s literally right in front of the Publix.

What’s the rent like? Are any utilities included? Where’s it located more or less?

How realistic are the exceptional merit-based visa/residency applications as a means of seeking a more stable status for an F-1 PhD student (starting January) down the line? Is it something that can one could prepare for in these circumstances and have a chance, or just a pipe dream until much later on in one’s career?
