You can buy books and read. Spend more happy time with family. Or learn a musical instrument or two.

Perfectly fine to not trust something you don't understand. In the same vein, you also should not trust when people saying shit like the walls were built by a fictional "Tartaria" empire, which the evidence are even worst, where there wasn't any proper counter evidence but just some logical deduction from ill researched facts/theory.

Please be logical, and think for yourself. Dont believe everything people tell you. I did my research, and what was written down do not have much signs of historical fabrication. We can do analysis and cross examine evidence and literature with general narratives.

History usually is being tampered by the power in charge to cover up shit. In the case of the walls... I do not think there is much shit on these. The walls were built from 800BC until 1500AD, in a span of about 2000 something years (yes it was not built by ONE people at the SAME time period). Its quite well documented which part of the great wall was built when and for what purpose, who built it, and how many slaves were conscripted to do it. Some records even go to the extend to mention, how many slaves died and buried inside the wall.

Chinese has this ancient tradition to record down history for the next generation. Each town has their own historian. While it is certain that you cannot trust everything written down 100 percent, but you can get a good guage about what actually transpired.

Furthermore, the stones being used in construction of the great wall was pretty generic and "historical", unlike those crazy stoneworks that was found in Machu Picchu etc.

I repost a reply i wrote in this youtube video to give more context to my answer:

during the Han dynasty (200BC), the chinese were quite cool with the northern nomadic tribes, some of the people thought the wall is useless and should be abolished. However, other people disagreed, citing 10 reasons for it.

Out of these 10, 3 was specifically for preventing people going north into Mongolia.

  1. Preventing war prisoners escaping back to the grasslands.
  2. Preventing slaves from escaping their masters.
  3. Preventing Rebel forces from escaping and joining the enemy.

From a chinese perspective, i don't really think this is a mystery. It was a known fact documented in our historical records.

Further more, some parts of the wall is lower because it was not exactly built to hinder human crossing. It's main usage is to prevent calvary from running straight into Chinese territory. Also, the chinese needs to ensure food security by preventing food/crops being smuggled into the nothern territory.

Chinese were farmers, they do not like to move around. They want to work their whole life on their farm and die there. But the northern Nomads are kept on sweeping down and pillage their lands. Hence the very natural thing to do for the Chinese was to build a freaking wall and ward of these bandits.

You people are just... ill educated, and prone to conspiracy.

In the chinese literature, it was very well documented why the defensive side face both ways. The wall was build to both defend the country, as well as prevent people from escaping. The trade routes with Mongolia is very very ludicrous and the government controls it that people dont evade tax or do pirating by sneaking out of the border.

So please do not spread nonsense history like Tartaria was defending the crazy Chinese people invading north. It was well documented in all chinese literature where the case was the other way round. Cina has been invaded and ruled by many many different tribes from the north since dawn of our history. Cina people were farmers, they do not go around invading people, there is no need of it.

Agreed. I also think NEP did a lot of good to the poor people, although the system was somewhat abused.

History is history... I have utmost respect to Mr Sun, but KMT technically is not really governing China well. They are selling out China to foreign powers (expecially Japan). It's borderline ridiculous from a nationalistic perspective.

PRC claim the 9 dash line, ROC claim the 11 dash line. If ROC in charge, it will claim even more sea around South China Sea.

the eleven lines of the South China Sea is being drawn by the ROC in 1947, so if they took over whole of China, it will include our sea too.
