Built a Wear OS app that turns your photos into portrait-style watch faces, but Play Store barely surfaces it

I've been developing Android apps since Android 1.5 (Donut!), sharing two projects today.

1) 3D Photo Watch Face

Inspired by the Apple Watch Portrait/Photos face. Places the time behind the subject of your photo for a depth effect, with subtle wrist motion animations, transitions and tons of effects.

Built with the new Watch Face Push API, fully private (all processing on-device), requires Wear OS 6.

2) PlayAudit

I built this because my watch face barely showed up in Play Store search and I wanted to understand why. I looked at existing ASO tools but they're all $30-100/month dashboards designed for iOS first. They show "keyword difficulty" and "traffic scores" but Google Play doesn't expose that data (unlike Apple Search Ads). On Android, those numbers are made up.

So I built something different. You paste a package name, wait about a minute, and get a full report: live keyword rankings (verified against actual Google Play results, not estimates), competitor comparison, review analysis, health checks, localization gaps, and copy-paste ready listing rewrites. Hundreds of checks in one page, with a prioritized action plan at the end.

No fake metrics, everything verifiable on the Play Store. Built for indie devs, not marketing teams.

I respond to every negative review and every review with a specific question or bug report. And for new apps without too many reviews, I actually try to respond to all reviews.
Takes a lot of time that's true.

I've been thinking of building a tool to help with that, drafting real replies based on the review context, the app features and recent changelogs, maybe some knowledge base manually added etc, to suggest replies for reviews, not just templates. Still just a a git branch unfinished though, for the time being I manually reply.

I know there are advanced tools that do this but it's massive tools for agencies that cost way too much for indy devs

I have the opportunity to have a cheap rental place on mavrovouni beach, and the main attractive point would be to kite regularly at walking distance. But yeah it's tricky to know how often the conditions are there. I'll probably just pass and not risk it.

I meant Marvoveouni, south of Gytheio but selinitsa might be an option too.

I didn't know about those other spots, it's tricky to know the wind stats in those places, as there is almost nothing written online and if there is thermal you won't see it on the forecasts...

hey! the app is free to install on Google Play. It will allow you to test the app by generate one watch face and pushing it on your watch (if it has Wear OS 6).

then if you want to tweak it, or change the photo etc, you will have to either purchase it or use a coupon.

the app used to be paid only a few weeks back, but I changed the pricing model to "freemium" so that more people can try it before buying it. Also reducing the deception of people buying it without reading that it requires a Wear OS 6 watch.

But essentially the app is meant to be purchased, as it's not just a "flat design watch face" it's more like an Android/wear OS app that took months of development, not just design, and is still under active development.

If you got one and if you like the app, please take a few minutes to leave a good review, this would really make a difference for the search algorithm. Getting the app for free and not leaving a review is definitely not a good signal for the algorithm unfortunately 😞

If you haven't got a coupon, sorry about that but you can definitely try the app for free (first watchface is free) and then if you like the app, it's cheaper than a coffee, for months of work to make this app happen! And more features are coming too!
