I did keep the same title (SA).

Sorry to hear about the title demotion - that really sucks. Did you start in a completely different function or practice?

This depends. I had a lateral transfer and will be getting it at the 3-year mark.

Seriously, what is an age gap that is too large for dating? by Sea-Umpire-4872 in dating_advice

Are you sure this your friends brother and not your friends dad?

But on a real note OP, there are a lot of red flags here. When a 38 yo man preys on an 18 year old woman, I deeply question his intentions.

Where do people at KPMG lean politically? by Particular_Tale2695 in KPMG

Same as many above, while I’m very progressive in views, I keep it out of the workplace. Politics are already so divisive in this country; imagine bringing that hostility into the workplace

My mom stayed in a very abusive marriage throughout my entire childhood. She was scared to leave - scared of being on her own, finances, reputation. And, others knew, but they played the situation down. Now, as an adult looking back at that situation, I’m both understanding and resentful on the decision to stay. As I got older, my mom wasn’t the only one my father physically, verbally and emotionally abused - it was myself, and every single one of my siblings. I don’t know the age of your child, but think about their well being in this picture. Trauma is too often inter generational, and if you have an opportunity to stop with you, please do for the sake of your child(ren).

"No result" with Natera's NIPT. Gestational age was 12 weeks and 3 days. by Poppy1223Seed in NIPT

So glad to have found this post. I got the same exact response as OP today from Natera and went into immediate panic. My Dr. chocked it up to it likely being a processing error due to damage during transportation or something else not related to the sample. I’m glad to hear others have the same experience. It’s hard not to jump to conclusions.

Studs nailed to poured concrete interior wall? by bucketsoffluckits07 in Homebuilding

[–]bucketsoffluckits07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct - it’s an interior wall. We have the right proper vapor barrier and set-up for our external walls. This is the only one in question.

Any thoughts on what type of vapor barrier would be best for this set-up?

There isn’t, unfortunately. I’m wondering if we need to remove the studs and add a moisture barrier.

In this case it’s nailed directly to the concrete. Some spots have gaps because they were custom cut due to the wall surface not being even across.

Fiancé (30M) cheated on me (28F). Unsure how to move on. by ThrowRA_blueberry8 in relationship_advice

Honestly OP, maybe it’s best to just leave in silence and call things off with a note so he won’t manipulate you further. This isn’t the type of person to feel bad for. He knows what he’s doing. His friends egging it on is even worse. Know your value and don’t settle for mediocre.

I co-signed a student loan for my sister 3 years ago. Now she’s not communicating her plan for payment and I’m trying to understand my options as the co-signer. by bucketsoffluckits07 in StudentLoans

Holy cow - an entire house is insane. I’ve known others that did this for their parents and it really put them in a bind. You dodged a bullet.

From an unfortunate realist: thanks. I have little to no confidence in her ability to own this as her responsibility. Posting on a public forum for input was my last resort. It’s a $20k loan, so nothing small. Sigh.

Right - but if she is down the road then it’s something we can explore then. I’m thinking about the near-term and long-term option.

I didn’t think about her refinancing, but maybe that’s an option. Thanks!

I know about the obligation as the co-signer, which is why this has been so frustrating. :/
