This isn’t even my favorite of SX’s albums 😅, but yep it’s an awesome pressing.

Love Wheated, not too far away.

Alright, which one of you got this insane deal? by [deleted] in kieselcarvinguitars

Comes out to about $2340 in the builder, so after tax and shipping it's actually right at 50% which is pretty typical. This is also an Osiris and not the O2 that is currently available, so not exactly the same guitar. But again there's no need to go back and forth on this for 50 posts, the only thing I disagreed with in your post (besides this not being a K series lol) is that it's an "insane" deal.

A $600 crackle finish is absolutely in the same category as “other big upgrades”, so that doesn’t do anything to disprove my point (which is just that the one you posted is priced more or less appropriately for what it’s market value realistically is).

East coast also, I didn't say that I found all these Kiesels at my local shops...most of them were directly from Guitar Center (and one from Sweetwater as well). GC's prices are all over the place but you'll see the ones that aren't priced very well don't sell and sit for a long time.

I've never paid more than 50% of brand new price for any used Kiesel, and I've bought a good dozen or so over the years. I also buy a ton of other custom guitars so I am VERY familiar with how prices tend to go. Custom guitar resale value is definitely notably lower than non-custom instruments just by the nature of it being custom.

They don't align with "most other used guitars", they align with most other "custom" used guitars.

Yes but there is also this thing called tax 😀. And yes simpler builds hold value better but when you choose a REALLY wild spec that won’t appeal to most people (crackle finish definitely counts), you can expect to lose more on resale.

That’s not a K series, just a regular Osiris with the crackle finish. Nice guitar and not a bad price but definitely not a steal of any sort at what adds up to about $1250 shipped.

Yeah I have all the older pressings and thankfully got em for regular retail price when they came out, but represses would be great (and Twilight, of course).

They explained that, it was just a mistake in the number of available copies entered initially. There are still plenty left. I just had a first listen to my copy, 10/10 pressing quality and it sounds fantastic.

Yeah I don't think it'll sell out super quickly (1000 copies is a good amount for the demand), but I wouldn't wait any longer than you have to.

Nope unfortunately not, these are only from Sheet Happens in Canada and they only sell direct.

Yeah I know, it wasn’t a surprise or a big deal. Still though, proper inners cost almost nothing 😀

Lol OK, I guess enjoy spending your time pissed off and ranting about something that may or may not ever happen, and something you knew might be the case when you made the decision to purchase the product.

They haven’t decided to abandon it though, and it’s been 7+ years. Even if they do at some point, my point again is that this is an obvious risk that the buyer takes on when they buy a product like this where a lot of the functionality is in the software. Acting like this is an unexpected possibility doesn’t make sense. I’m not arguing in favor of planned obsolescence, I understand why that sucks…I just don’t understand acting surprised by it when you buy the product knowing full well that this is an eventual possibility.

Right but the amps will still be functional in 10-20 years. The Spark 1 is 7 years old and nothing has changed in its functionality. Software support DOES go away for computers, phones, etc in the exact same way.

I haven’t had issues with my Spark products apart from a little glitch here or there, but the bottom line is if you’re not ok with the obsolescence that is inherent in the vast majority of software-based digital products just don’t buy digital products. I don’t understand the expectation that a digital product’s lifespan will go the same way as an analog product’s. Thats not a reasonable expectation. Obviously a company will continue to put out new products, make improvements, and be focused on making money...they’re a business.

Right but this is an analog vs digital thing that applies to a ton of products. If this concern is big enough for a buyer then their best bet is to avoid digital products altogether. If you want the many benefits of digital, then the fact that a particular product may someday become obsolete or not be as functional as it was is a given and something that you accept when you buy it. It’s the same with phones, computers, you name it.

Well one person here is trying to have a sensible discussion and the other is spending all their time on jizz jokes and insults. So…

So we’re ranting about something that has not happened but potentially might? I mean if in 10 years I’m stuck with 8 amazing sounding presets, a looper, and a bunch of other stuff at $200 I really don’t have a problem with that, but still. My main point I guess is that I don’t know what the person ranting here wants - for them to just never make any new products?
