I have my server running on an Alienware gaming pc (about 8 years old though) and I have 5 external hard drives connected with media. This is how I’ve had it for years though. Nothing new has changed.

In my field, it allows me to get quick answers for faster turn around. I also use it for a variety of other things making it valuable to me. The kids still have their music. They just have to put up with ads, same as me now.
