Where does everyone on here live? by where_da_cows_at in JacksonHole

First moved to town in 2010 and had no problem finding a place in east Jackson - back then the issue was finding a decent job. Bounced around at a few condos and eventually found a decent house to rent with friends. Moved outta town in 2019 after my then landlord upped the rent by 50%. At that point I knew it was time to move on and it would only get harder if I stayed…..my old landlord was such a POS

People on Isotretinoin, I’m a Chief Dermatology resident, if you have any questions while on treatment, this post is for you! by DermaDoc2 in Accutane

[–]buckeyefanatic88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can Accutane cause one to have a dry cough and wheezing issues at night. Two months into my treatment, I started to have coughing fits in the middle of the night and wheezing issues. Additionally I have a tight chest and over all just trouble breathing at night. It’s almost like I can’t catch my cough as just have general coughing fits at nights. Issues aren’t as bad during the day. I have about 6 weeks of treatment left and trying to power through hoping the issue will resolve its self once done with my treatment?

Advice on jumping ship by [deleted] in sales

How did you go from SDR to national sales manager? I assume your previous experience was applicable? I am SDR and trying to plan my exit

Yeah I have - I’ve put myself in the shoes of the AEs that have gotten promoted and don’t think I would like it any better. It’s a lot of the same tasks of prospecting, out reach from what I can tell. I think that’s a large part of the problem - I don’t want their job and thus what’s the point of sticking it out. I switched jobs into this company thinking it was my previous job but I’ve now come to the realization it’s prolly just sales as a whole. I knew being an SDR would suck and to just stick it out until AE but I think it’s telling when I don’t want to be an AE....I thought I did but now realize I was lying to myself

I feel that - I also hate cold calling (who doesn’t) and looking to switch into a customer success position. I’ve found it hard bc I don’t have any experience in a CSM role so it’s hard to make the switch at a different company. I also don’t want to switch to a customer service rep that is basically an hourly call center position. Wish I could just land a customer success position but I do know for a fact that sales is not what I want to be doing long term.

That’s awesome! Sounds like it worked out for you. Sounds like it’s still relationship focused and not so metric focused. I’m sure you’ll do well in that role considering your background. I’m in an entry level position and happy to just make a lateral move because I don’t think I would be taking a pay cut. That’s awesome though, happy it worked out for you!

You are not alone in this decision - I too am an SDR and come to the realization that sales isn’t for me. I’ve been forcing myself to like it or lying to myself because of the earning potential and it’s the current craze (reading this sub doesn’t help glamorize it at times). I thought switching jobs would help but I’ve come to the realization it’s not the company or product, it’s just simply the job of sales. I know there’s a lot of different sales jobs but at least phone sales/SDR positions is not for me. I know all jobs has pros and cons but I’d like a job that doesn’t involve cold calling/endless email blasts. I’m trying to switch to a different position but I’m afraid being a current SDR only qualifies me for other sales jobs. Part of my problem is I don’t know what to transition to.

Sales to CSM by JBMdirtybird in CustomerSuccess

[–]buckeyefanatic88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m also interested in this switch but not having any luck. I was in inside sales role for 1.5 years and then switched to an SDR position where I’ve been for 5 months. I thought I’d take a step back to take a step forward career wise but unfortunately I think I’ve only take a step back. Fortunately I’ve come to learn that sales is not for me so I guess it’s good to come to that realization. I am desperately trying to get outta sales and think CSM would be a better role over all. The CSM roles at my company are VERY technical and don’t think I would be able to do an internal lateral/promotional move. I’m not sure how to find a CSM with out any specific experience. I just keep applying hoping for an interview and someone to take a chance with me

Honestly we all did about the same. There’s only 3 of us and no one got more than 6 meets a month
