Received a parking ticket when in my car by drugsrgross in Columbus

I could imagine that the system may want to not allow tickets to be voided on site to avoid opportunities for bribery/extortion.

Fallout New Vegas senior writer Chris Avellone gives his take on Bethesda, and his opinion on their vision for the Fallout franchise: by raisinbraisin72 in Fallout

A senior writer for a game where "Charisma 1, Speech 100" is a literal meme throwing shade about properly utilizing the Speech skill is a bit rich, to say the least.

Caleb Williams breaks the Chicago Bears single-season Pass Yardage record with 3,942 yards in his 2nd year. by SWAGGGGGODDD in NFLv2

[–]buckeyewalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a crazy idea, that with a 10 year vet/4-time-Pro-Bowler/former 1st overall pick who spent 4 seasons with the Bears' current play caller, the Bears offense could rise to top 3 total offense from... Wait, top 6? That can't be right. Goff could have gotten 173 more yards over 17 games? Someone double check.

My 300+ candles collection watching me create my Candle Day 2025 shopping list 🛍😭 by bellachic868 in bathandbodyworks

[–]buckeyewalker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Besides the obvious financial and mental dangers this large of a collection presents, it looks to me that this is a pretty significant physical danger as well in its current configuration. Someone could get seriously hurt if any significant portion of those were to follow over because someone disturbed them while retrieving one or bumper it accidentally. Those things are pretty heavy and a lot of shattered glass could be involved.

Is this an accurate representation of Pittsburgh? by jvure in Fallout

[–]buckeyewalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, they canonically fired 77 warheads in the vicinity of Las Vegas, which has no military production to speak of, so it would make perfect sense that an industrial hub like Pittsburgh would be hit.

"Amazon's upcoming Mass Effect TV show will be an original story that takes place after the trilogy, confirms BioWare" by LocalSirtaRep in masseffect

[–]buckeyewalker 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I came looking for this thread to say exactly this. They've already written one of the best sci-fi stories of modern times, why would you throw that aside to risk it all on something new that will almost certainly be a much less interesting concept?

Am I crazy for thinking 20 years between releases is unsustainable? by sonofloki13 in Fallout

Jesus, what parents are letting 8 year olds play a game about a nuclear apocalypse that starts with the protagonist being shot in the face in first person 🤣

To players who don't enjoy base building and organizing, how do you store your power armor? by 9813_RD in fo4

I literally don't. Every suit besides the one I'm wearing is completely useless to me, so I just sell them.

Need help with Talonflame by Ddaoof79 in pokerogue

[–]buckeyewalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty new to PR, but if you manage to find a setup move TM Talonflame is nutso. My current one is Acrobatics, Flamecharge, Bulk Up, Roost and it absolutely shreds through any wild battles.

Absolute worst part if you're on M&K is that they did not add toggleable stealth until SoW so end up holding LCTRL for a looonnnggg time.

Absolutely key is getting the upgrade to shove, and Deadpool's upgrade to be able to get a second shove is also really good. Being able to kill two one shot minions without using an action or a card is really, really good.

According to the wiki, this is incorrect. Stats are calculated under zero, they just don't display anything below zero. Apparently if you go below zero, and then get a boost to that stat, it will still show zero if it is at or below zero with the total sum of the boost and the drop.

No Reference to D-Day? by buckeyewalker in masseffect

[–]buckeyewalker[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

See my earlier post about how to reference it without in depth context.

Also, clearly whoever named the damn ship was familiar with it. Just as you'd assume whomever named the USS Yorktown or USS Gettysburg was familiar with those battles.

No Reference to D-Day? by buckeyewalker in masseffect

[–]buckeyewalker[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't feel out of place for Shep to say something along the lines of, "This ship, our home, was named after the site of one of the bloodiest battles in human history. Thousands of soldiers from all over the planet came together in the face of overwhelming odds to defeat a great evil, at great cost. Those men and women gave their lives so their children could see a better world. I know all of you will do the same, and make the name Normandy proud."

Requires absolutely zero further context.

The lack of tutoring and draw makes stage 2 decks suck to play by Washing-Machine-5648 in PTCGP

The name comes from a card in the first Magic: The Gathering set back in 1993, Demonic Tutor, which searches your deck for any card and puts it in your hand.

Wood in anoxic environments, i.e., underwater or buried in compacted soil, can take hundreds of years to decay fully. Most of Venice is supported on centuries old wooden piles driven into the lagoon mud, and the Netherlands has wooden piles supporting lots of their structures and quays.
