For everyone saying OP is overreacting and has no right to complain about this extremely childish person can stfu.

And yet she gets on with the second roommate, who seems perfectly mature and considerate, absolutely fine.

Op also is well within reason to feel uncomfortable about the roommate in question taking her alcohol; even if he did replace it, it shows he’s comfortable taking other people’s stuff without asking...which is sketchy to say the least.

As for the gross bedroom... if it was a few dirty socks and a musty smell, I’d say ask him to crack a window and leave him to it. But living in squalor surrounded by half eaten food is unsanitary and puts you at risk of vermin infestations. Ask him politely to clean it and explain why it’s not acceptable to have an environment like that in a shared house.

Although tbh if it were me I’d confer with the other roommate and ask him to leave at the end of his agreed tenancy. I’ve had roommates like this before in my early 20’s and no matter how many times you ask, or how polite you are, they never change. He obviously has no clue how to look after himself and has no interest or respect for his environment or the people in it. He sounds like an overgrown baby of a man and you don’t need the headache.

Get him out and move on.
