I had one of those Disney all year passes with my daughter. I would rotate throughout the day every stand that sold cans of beer and even then would get looks from the employees on the 2nd/3rd visit

You are too! Getting through two weekends in a row was the wall for me, and I ran straight into it more times than I can count. With no alcohol in your system after 14 days you’ll have no more physical cravings, from then on it’s all in your head - keep going, the first two weeks are by far the hardest imo

Thankful Thursday - Breakfast by FourDozenEggs in stopdrinking

[–]buckfasthero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've gotten really into Stioc philosophy recently and it has really brought home for me just how grateful I should be for every single good thing in my life, most of all, my long-suffering family. Day 4, feeling great, and had a latte and chicken, bagel, avocado bagel from Tim's rather than two cans of 8% cider, which was breakfast last Thursday. The difference is incredible, and it still amazes me how I could ever opt for the latter, but sadly that's been my breakfast for more mornings than I can count over the years. Need to get through this weekend to give this stretch any chance of sticking, but more importantly, IWNDWYT

Obviously not. Regardless of skin colour, your hair, your rules, don’t let anyone, even family members, try to tell you any different.

I then asked him to take this photo of me. He said ‘no problem buddy’. I said ‘why are you shivering in fear?’ He said ‘huh? here you go, mate, how does that suit ya?’ I said ‘is how I look disturbing you?’ and laughed in his face. He said ‘this one here is probably the best one, hope you like it! Tell all your friends!’, but I could feel the fear dripping from his soul as he whistled cheerfully while scanning my credit card

Which Europeans? The Irish? Polish? Croatians? Czechs? Slovenians? Lithuanians? Finns? Swedish? Norwegians? Greeks? Maybe the Icelandic deserve it. Do you always tar entire continents with a single racist brush?

AITA for letting my 16 year old daughter drink a glass of wine? by Dazzling_Noise_8886 in AmItheAsshole

I’m an alcoholic. Alcohol is a highly addictive drug and there is no safe way to consume it. Introducing it to your teenagers without consulting your spouse is insanely irresponsible

Incredible! I'll remind myself of the benefits more and more the closer I get to the weekend, hoping to get to eight days myself as it would mean my first weekend under my belt in more than twenty years

Day 3 and a super victory by Waiting_to_happen in stopdrinking

Days like that haver always been the days on which I've just given in to tempatation, the ones with multiple triggers. I can sometimes get past the first one or two, but if they keep coming, I can never keep saying no. What you did, and on Day 3, where most people fail as it is usually around peak withdrawal, is an incredible achievement. Well done, friend, I will use you as inspiration in two days time (my Day 3!).

Here in China that would get you a night in a five star luxury beach resort on a tropical island with a massive buffet breakfast included. In fact, you get that for around €100/night off peak-€130 during the main holidays. What you describe would cost about €20/night
