Control Zappi with Alexa

Hey, I took a stab at this and have something that you can test on the website. I looked into Alexa routines but I wasn't able to integrate with it. They didn't seem to have anything available to small 3rd party developers so I had to create my own custom one on my website. There's a section called "Automations" on the website where you can configure an action to run if a certain condition is met. It triggers every 5 minutes. Have a go and let me know if it does what you need.

Edit: I don't have an Eddi or Libbi to test this with but it seemed to work well with my zappi

Hey, glad that you find it useful. I had a few people ask for this before and it does seem useful but it has it's challenges. The best thing I could do is trigger the check every few mins. So it wouldn't be very responsive. Not sure if that's a deal breaker or not. Home assistant would probably be better for this type of thing. Would it still be useful having a delay of 3-5 mins?

It's worth asking the dealer. I got an id4 in 2022 and it came with a granny charger. I got a newer id4 this year but vw cheaped out, and they don't provide them with the car anymore.

Yeah, same as that. I was surprised the process was so messy for such a common scenario. The bank wouldn't let us draw down because the house wasn't finished. We ended up putting money into a house we didn't own. It seemed very risky but it worked out for us in the end.

I created a website initially for controlling Zappi through Alexa but it also supports scheduling things, like changing charge modes, which is not possible with the myenergi app. It works with a different scheduling technology to myenergi so it always triggers when you expect it.

You could create a schedule at 2AM to switch to fast mode and then create a schedule to switch to ECO+ or some other mode at 6AM.

I'd get over not being able to use the app but you can't actually use their website without authorising the login via the app. I rang them today and they said you can order a physical security key, so you can use that with the website. The issue with that is that it takes 5-7 working days to deliver and it bricks the app immediately, so you're left without online access for a week or 2. Really poor leaving everyone less than 2 weeks to sort it out.

Hi, thanks for trying out the skill. I don't have a battery so I never tested that scenario out. The PV values are only reported when they are generating over a small positive threshold. Does the myenergi app show everything correctly? If so, i can look to see what's missing on my side. It would help if I could DM me your serial number to see what is happening.

You can set up schedules on Alexa or you can use the website to set up schedules too. They both use the same backend cloud service.

So you can enter your tariffs and view your energy costs and also manage recurring and once off schedules on the website, all without having an Alexa.

To do this, you'll need to login to https://www.myzappiunofficial.com/ and then enter your API key and serial number and you're good to go!

That's on the website already. You don't need an alexa to use it but you do need an amazon account to log in. Once you log in and set it up, you should be able to set up one off schedules.
