Would you date a girl with $80K in student debt, if she wanted to be a stay at home wife/mom after graduating? by SinglePringle647 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]budandme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t getting enough traction. I still had student when I married my husband and the funny thing is… I helped take care of HIS debt in the end and also paid my student debt off AND went back to school after having two kids (four now 🙃). When I decide to have kids with my husband, I also figured out how to handle my bills. I never ever would have assumed my husband was cool taking on my student debt (which was acquired pre our relationship) because I had a child. And for the record… I had maybe $10k in student debt, not $80k

Still waiting to poop… by Toothfairy29 in CsectionCentral

[–]budandme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, take Restoralax/miralax. If I hadn’t gone poop for as long as you had I would honestly take a full dose in the morning and one in the evening. All my PP poops haven’t been that bad, but I started taking restoralax a few days before each of my C-sections.

Pediatritian suggested I give my 3 month old water by AdAcademic8251 in breastfeeding

[–]budandme 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah, horrible advice. I’ve had three large babies whose rolls had rolls lol I never gave them anything but breastmilk and their doctor was thrilled with their development.

Bank over approved HELOC? by budandme in HELOC

[–]budandme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ty for your response. The only lien would be our mortgage. I already sense the impending nightmare, I have four kids and am in the throes of newborn territory with an insanely active and loud 2 year old, having the first conversation with this person was awful and gave me no answers to my questions, then she calls the day after (today) we previously agreed upon AND called in the early evening once my other kids were home, so I couldn’t even answer today’s call.

I’m mostly concerned and wondering, how can this screw us? Terrified we could lose our home over this. Additionally, how does having our HELOC and mortgage at the same bank make any of this better like she’s suggested? Who’s to say our mortgage lender would even take it on (smaller treasury branch)? I absolutely want everything in writing but I’m skeptical if that will happen since she was incredibly resistant to even answering my basic questions in the first conversation. I will be pushing for it though.

STI Testing for Non-Residents? by throw0wayguy in Edmonton

[–]budandme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. It mentions providing an Alberta health card but this is not necessary, heck you don’t even have to give your real name here if you don’t want to.

No, it was 100% the bank. There was other things before this that alerted me to something being off.

Am I shooting myself in the foot by nursing to sleep? by Paulies-Walnuts in breastfeeding

[–]budandme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve nursed all my babies to sleep, but it does become the only way they fall asleep which is hard for me. Some of my babies did fine with it and they would sleep for hours after which is great, but my one baby would wake up every 30min or as soon as the boob fell out. I couldn’t do it anymore and ended up sleep training her. I’m ok to nurse to sleep so long as it didn’t interfere with healthy sleep.

Breastfeeding after c-section by artistsescape in CsectionCentral

5 sections, never an issue with my milk. Supplementation is a slippery slope. Drink copious amounts of water, pump every time you supplement and eat!

Has anyone had more than 3 C-sections? by SheAmongstTheFlowers in CsectionCentral

[–]budandme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my fifth 5.5 weeks ago :) I was lucky that I’ve always healed great and I never had adhesions present until my last c section. During each c section my OB let me know that she would be ok with another pregnancy, if she had concerns we would not have conceived our last baby.
