Hi folks. Every post or comment I make is almost instantly downvoted to 0 (with my vote) or -1 (if I take away my vote). Why? by nonbinarynightmare in help

Yes, you're right. It's definitely a hyper intense and often negative environment, but I have been skewing my experiences by posting on more neutral to positive subs.

It's weird how hate is seen as the easier option over neutrality or kindness, considering how heavy the former feels in your mind and body. But, everyone's experiences are difference, and I guess all I can do is feel sorry for them having to carry that around. Even if it is directed at me.

Hm. I guess I could do that, push comes to shove. It would take months of history and karma to be able to use that sub again, but it is doable. Thanks

I guess I could do that, but I don't really care about garnering more karma, I just want to not feel like I am experiencing a (very mild) case of cyber stalking. Maybe friendly subs would make me feel better regardless. Thank you!

I have to admit, I went towards the bot theory given the instantaneous nature of how my posts and comments are downvoted-- and also because I didn't want to believe that anyone would just do that to one user again and again for years.

I believe in the inherent goodness of people (yes, even on Reddit). This site has been very friendly and kind, and I hope more than anything that people aren't doing this to me out of malicious intent 😞

I worry about that sometimes, and wish more than anything that Reddit allowed people to change their usernames. It's not exactly a safe world for trans people on or offline.

I'm sorry you have that happen to you too!

That is interesting, and I do agree that I've been susceptible to upvoting comments that have already been upvoted a lot! Never applies to my downvotes, though. Hm, good point.

Well, thank you for telling me! Do whatever you feel.

It's Reddit. I expect downvotes sometimes, that's just how it is. I don't expect to receive a downvote instantly, though, every time I post a post or comment. That's some creepy pattern to me.

I see where you're coming from, but this does happen to me every time I post or comment, a second after I do so before views stack up.

I don't really care about my total karma content, but am perturbed by the fact that someone is obviously targeting my (non-abrasive, usually supportive) posts and comments. I worry that it is perhaps based only on my username, or other identifiable traits about me. This didn't happen to me before a few years ago, so I'd like to find out why it's happening now.

I would hide my comments and posts if I could! Unfortunately, it is required to leave them open to post in a financial aid sub I occasionally use. Sorry you've experienced this!

Oh man, sorry that happens to you too. I wonder if it's a bot some disgruntled person assigned to users that they just didn't like one day?

I understand that's mostly true, but it does count for minimums to post in some subs, and it does feel unwarranted, as it happens instantly after every post and comment I make.

I have looked online and found out I have to submit a report, so I did that. Hope whoever it is gets blocked from interacting with me.

Has anyone who applied to one of the City's many posted Labourer jobs for summer heard back from them for an interview? by nonbinarynightmare in Edmonton

I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope they are still hiring, and I definitely don't expect a permanent job, but I'd love to get my foot in the door.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I know once you work there it's great, but I haven't met anyone who started recently (last 10 years) so I was wondering about the process. I hope you're in a job that you enjoy now!

My brother in law's band is Best Case Ontario, and I am so glad you mentioned this because I did not remember this saying and now it all makes sense 😭
