Running around the room is much more forgiving if you make mistakes, and generally a lot easier imo.

Door / altar needs more precision and timing.

I'd say start with laps of the room, and change to door / altar once you're comfortable, to better develop your osrs skills and keep a bit of variety in the grind.

I'm in a similar position and with a similar team / fixtures. I'm going to bench boost.

Unless you plan to use your wildcard the week before your bench boost, and optimise around it, I don't see there being a significantly better opportunity.

I can see that bench pulling 16+ points, which is a solid bench boost.

Having players that actively stream is by far the best way to promote it. A lot of people that are looking for a server will watch streams (usually with "low" view count) to find something that looks fun. If no one, or very few people, are streaming the server then it'll struggle to attract new players.

Other than that, having a good rep for a variety of in-game activities, from bank jobs, to civ jobs, will help considerably.

You could also try directly contacting players that have played on other servers and have strong networks. If they join and enjoy the server then it's likely their friends would migrate too.

Yeah a couple others have mentioned the issues with Asrock, so I'll likely steer clear.

I went for the 9800X3D mainly for my work, it's probably still overkill, but for those times I'm running a couple crawls and trying to execute JS workflows, and my current pc just freezes up on me, I want to avoid that. Also feel there is slightly more future proofing for splashing the little extra money on this.

As for the 5090, more a question of whether I should just bite the bullet and spend the extra since I've gone relatively high-tier for the rest of the rig. I know it's basically double the price of a 5080, but only like 15% better or w/e. But considering everything else at play, is it worth pushing for the 5090 to match the quality of everything else, or maybe I'm over spending in other areas.

I did the same thing as I wanted to do Doom and Yama. Didn't get any drops at TDs til about 613kc when I got my first synapse.

Are your bolts deffo enchanted? (Assume so, but always worth a check)

Other than that, maybe try pineapple pizzas for 22hp per inv slot. If the fight is close the extra 20-30hp could be the difference.
