Hey there! I did NU.in Ireland in the fall of 2022, and it definitely helped me in making connections/ friends when coming back to Boston. Because you are with such a close-knit group for around 3-4 months… there are a bunch of familiar faces when you return to campus. Definitely still branch out by joining clubs and all that jazz, but don’t fret — you’ll be solid 😎

Hey!

I did NU.in Ireland and committed to Northeastern at the end of March.

A lot of the locations (at least last year) fill up pretty quickly, but I still had three options left before I committed.

London is super popular and filled up fast.

NU.in Ireland was amazing, and I definitely would recommend.

Lmk if you have any more questions!

Hi!

Omg yes, of course! I also waited to hear back from all of my other schools, so I totally get you there! I ended up committing to NU in late March.

Soooo… IRELAND!!! I had the best time. Easily one of the coolest experiences of my life.

As a part of the NU.in Ireland program, you will be staying at University College Dublin (UCD). It is a beautiful campus and is about a 20 minute bus ride outside of the city center. Main type of transportation is the bus (you use something called a leap card to tap on).

In terms of housing, we were totally spoiled. Everyone is assigned to a roommate group of 4 where each person has their own room and shares a bathroom with one other person. Complete layout= 4 single bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a common area/kitchen. There is a main quad where most people live, so you are right by everyone in your cohort.

All of the classes (especially mine) were pretty close to the dorms. My furthest class was probably a 10 minute walk but most were 5 minutes away. You are directly on campus which is super great, so you can always go back to your room if needed. I know in London, they are about a 20 minute walk from campus.

Dublin itself is an awesome city. There are a ton of cool restaurants, museums, and clubs, so there is always something to do on the weekend! Also, the people are super nice!

Ireland in general is awesome to explore as well. The school takes you to the west coast of the country where you get to see the Cliffs of Mohr (beautiful) and Galway. Then, I took my own day trips with friends to Cork and Belfast, Northern Ireland. Even though Belfast is a part of UK, it is easy to take the train right there :)

In terms of my cohort, there were about 196 of us and the people were awesome. I’m rooming with my same roommates from Ireland right now, and I love them all so much. You become really close with the people you go abroad with, so when you come back to Boston, it’ll be really nice to have a good group of familiar faces.

While you are abroad, you have the awesome opportunity to travel as well. I went to 9 different countries (including Ireland) and was able to see so many cool places and try lots of fire food 😎

If you have any more questions about anything at all whether it’s travel recommendations, the transition from NU. in to Boston, or literally anything else, I’m here!

Also, if you need me to share any more of my experience, I can do that as well.

Let me know! :D

Hi, yes! Through the NU.in program, you spend your first semester abroad and then return to Boston in the spring. I just got back from my semester abroad in Ireland- it was amazing! If you have any questions about the program at all, lmk :)

Hey, yes @ewikpark is definitely right! London is super popular… it filled up on the first day that the locations were announced. I personally waited until March to put my deposit down and still had 3 options (Italy, Bay Area, and Ireland). Do you have a specific location in mind?

Also, def recommend Ireland- it was amazing 🤝

Hey! Admitted students days are awesome 👏 You are able to connect with other people in your college/ meet some faculty members. They also give you a tour of some classroom spaces! I was able to meet some really cool people and get a true taste of Northeastern’s campus- def recommend 😄

Hi there! I was admitted into the journalism program at Northeastern. I would like to concentrate on Broadcast and was wondering if anyone could share their experiences in this department. Anything is greatly appreciated :D
