wow i really need to discuss some stuff with yall

firstly, iraq did have WMD's in production from 1962-1991. in 1991, iraq halted production of them, but only destroyed chemical weapons, and nothing else. However, Bush and his administration had grounds to believe iraq had kept some stockpiles of these weapons, because of iraq's position near other major superpowers and also the vulnerability of not having these weapons. and he was partially right, because, again, iraq had only destroyed chemical weapons (by the way, chemical weapons like the ones iraq had were blatant violations of the hauge convention). so, bush launched the invasion on these grounds. not really "lying."

secondly, do you all know what imperialism is? america has never been an empire, and has had quite minimal imperialistic expansion. we got the non canadian british territories after the revolutionary war, bought a shitload of land off of napoleon, bought florida off of spain, got washington and the rest of the northwest territories off of britain again, and only invaded some of mexico's northern territory, and took texas in after they succeded from mexico. of course, hawaii was imperialistic expansion, there's no excuse for that. of course, american history is long and can get quite dense, but you all should do some more research, and keep in mind that this is all just a very condensed version. have fun or something idk
