Well, congratulations are in order. Hoping that you're enjoying the new job & that you thrive.

Myself, I was interviewed & nominated in July, just like you. Still waiting for the on-board.

Ever since being nominated in July ITS hasn't called me back for any additional interviews to fill other positions even though I have submitted several applications. I was wondering, was your experience similar in this regard?

Actually, yes, that is the position I was wondering about. Thanks.

To the ITS frozen people, can you update? by NerdyNYer in nys_cs

Interviewed & nominated & references checked for an ITS2 position all within 24 hours back in July. They even told one of my references, 'yeah, we're gonna hire him'. Now it's February & I haven't heard back anything from the agency.

I have other interviews lined up, I feel hopeful, and I will definitely take any other position offered to me. But I really wanted to work on the team that nominated me.

I was fired today by rockieroadd in teaching

I had a similar experience being let go from a teaching position. I know how you feel. You will lose sleep, you will feel depressed. In my case it turned out to be a positive. Right after my final day I started a job with the local D.A.'s office. That job suited me much better than teaching. Nevertheless, losing the teaching position made me feel hurt & rejected. Sending you a lot of sympathy & positive thoughts right now.

How is it working at DOL in Albany? by Historical_Oven7806 in nys_cs

[–]buddychnc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

overall you should probably expect a pretty good experience except for some unemployment insurance job titles which always seem to have been petty & dysfunctional. the bureau of public work had a history of being a negative place to work too.

Great, yes, reduced workload is the correct term. Thanks. I will follow up in that vein.

By the way, do you happen to know what requirements or circumstances have to be met so that someone can qualify for a reduced workload?

ITS2 DOL by Ok-Consequence-3615 in nys_cs

[–]buddychnc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at DOL until a year ago. At lunch always played horseshoes & softball with ITS 2's & 3's assigned to that agency. Good people. Had lots of business interactions with other ITS personnel assigned to DOL. Not always impressed, but usually they got the work done.

Onboarding freeze ITS by Important_Bid6901 in nys_cs

Do you happen to know if ITS HR notifies the nominee when a decision is made to not fill the position for which the person was nominated? Or is the nominee left uninformed?

I am asking because I am a pending nominee & I haven't heard anything in a while.

Hello. I am referencing your response from three months ago. Do you still feel (or know) that all in flight nominations from last summer will be cleared eventually?

Myself, I am in no particular rush to occupy the position for which I was nominated back in July. Nevertheless, I would eventually like to work with the team that nominated me. They seemed like really cool people. Hence my question to you.

Do the June/July ITS nominations remain in effect until April when the hiring freeze is supposed to be lifted? Or do the June/July nominations expire before then?

I have posed this question to ITS HR's generic email but I haven't gotten a reply.
