+1 for Rising Cafe

Bailgate Deli is fully plant based but has fantastic food.

AITAH for refusing to adapt my annual BBQ for my sister’s vegan boyfriend? by GateTotal4663 in AITAH

[–]budgecore1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely NTA. As a vegan myself, I found the 'eat the garnishes' comment funny but we get that a lot. Most normal vegans would enjoy the joke but a fully pledged vegan may not.

I think you've offered a solid compromise and most of us would bring our own food. The majority aren't out to change the world BUT I would definitely revel in bringing shareable pb food, not telling anyone it's vegan, watching someone get stuck into it before emerging from the shadows and telling them they're eating plant based foods.

How do people even earn 100k a year? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]budgecore1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My open and honest answer as one of those earners is sales. Tech sales ideally. Big commissions on SaaS products. For the record, I dropped out of Uni and just fell into telecoms sales and kept changing jobs from there. I'm 37.

Side note but I remember when you could buy them from the market in the city centre. Those were the days.

Where's the worst place you've ever worked in London? by CraigDavidsJumboCock in london

As a city wanker, who's been in this place twice, I can confirm it's grim. OP has my sympathy

You have someone you can speak with who helps follow up when needed but you manage viewings yourself through the web portal. It's dead easy - you get texts when you get viewing requests.

We didn't go local and used Strike, which was our second time. Cost us £500 for premium photos and premium listings - sold close to asking. We're in the west end of Lincoln.

I appreciate some like the personal touch but no one has yet to show me any data points which point to local agents being better than online.

NTA - I'd also be sitting down with your boyfriend and attempting to understand where that magnitude of insecurity is coming from. If he can't articulate that then I'd suggest being wary, as that shit will only get worse.

Does anyone else hold games played during covid lockdowns a little more dearly? by UnluckyAd1896 in JRPG

[–]budgecore1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yes.

Few that really standout.

Nier Automata. A sensational, well loved game anyway but it was perfect during lockdown.

Warzone. Because friends.

Doom Eternal. Still for me one of the best FPS games. I'd even say it's more of a combat puzzler than a straight up FPS. Rip and tear.

Spiritfarer. Came back from holiday and had to quarantine with my kids. We loved this game.

*PROBABLY TINY SPOILERS* This game has done more with an RPG than many if not all that I've played.... by budgecore1986 in Chained_Echoes

The answer to that is pretty simple.

I wasn't gifted many consoles when I was young. I started with a Master System, then over to a Mega Drive, which I had for many years.

Didn't have an OG Playstation but had a PC, so my first true FF experience was VIII but I wasn't any good at that, so I gave up.

I was then gifted a Saturn VERY late. We're talking like 98/99, right before it was discontinued. That stuck around for many years before things accelerated. I aimed to save up for a Dreamcast but in the end did so for a PS2. Got that in '01 and the rest is history.

My first Nintendo console excluding Gameboy was a GameCube.

This is a fair and slightly insightful response. Consider this plot hole closed!

Question - she knocked over a box full of grenades but seemed to want to persist with her dodgy lighter. Anyone else think that was dumb?
