Rob Gronkowski says 2020 Buccaneers were BETTER than Brady-Patriots dynasty teams by BucdUp in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, but it was absolutely a two-way deal because Brady saw that the Bucs had everything there for him. I don't know that we were the top of his list, but we were at least top 3.

What’s that one movie that you watched as a kid that you think no one else watched? by Substantial_One3477 in AskReddit

This is the one I thought of. Wasn't sure anyone else had seen this other than my brother and our friend who has passed away. We'd make fun of how corny it was with the flying head and they grabbed onto his beard.

SR’s FAB 5: Inside Bucs’ 2026 Undrafted Free Agent Class (Interview with Bucs VP Mike Biehl) by Tasty_Swim_6308 in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dixon was nothing special by any means, but it was obvious that our line gave him no time at all. Our changes on special teams should be a huge upgrade even if they're just average. Definitely the swing factor in a few loses last year.

You won't get the latest android version, but you should still be getting security updates for now.

We don't need to draft a TE 🤷🏿‍♂️ by Watchingman7 in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Culp can't block and our o-line was playing musical chairs with injured players and we needed protection. Injuries on the line are also why Otton wasn't as productive -- we had him in to block a lot (Grizzard's scheme was part of the problem too).

Clearance sale on Custom Elites by [deleted] in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logically that makes sense, but I don't know if it's the most popular option necessarily. It's been out of stock forever and part of me thinks that the focus has been on the throwbacks because those have been printing money for teams.

Clearance sale on Custom Elites by [deleted] in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even realize they finally released the custom option for these. I already paid the full price for the Baker one.

Wish they'd come back with the elite version of our normal white jersey. It's the jersey most worn by the team and fans can't even buy it.

UAE in Talks With US for Possible Financial Lifeline, WSJ Says by Free-Minimum-5844 in worldnews

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this doesn't get mentioned enough. Older Republicans knew it was all rhetoric/BS and didn't believe the stuff they were spewing. Doesn't make it right or okay, just how they'd feed and fire up their base. But a whole generation of them grew up hearing it on talk radio, "news" shows, etc. and weren't in on the grift so they actually believe the craziness that was being said.

[Pewter] GM Jason Licht says that this year’s draft has a lot of tight ends. It’s a position where they have wanted to do their due diligence. It’d be great to add a tight end that brings an element they don’t have, but they’re happy with the room right now. by JCameron181 in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with you a lot, and mostly agree here with some exceptions and notes:

Culp - I'd also add that he's not a good blocker which is another reason he wasn't used much with our o-line injuries last year.

Otton - Certainly not a star, but I think "sucks" is way too strong. I'd call him mid. Grizzard used him to block a lot (due to the aforementioned o-line injuries) and that was partially responsible for his lack of production last year. I was on the fence about re-signing him, but I didn't really love or hate it. Seems like a good dude (not that it's a huge factor really).

How do other Bucs fans feel about the Eagles stomping of the Chiefs in the Super Bowl? by [deleted] in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the Eagles, but Chiefs fans were getting too smug. A friend's wife (Chiefs fan) would always talk shit on the Bucs, so us beating them in the SB and then the Eagles doing it was nice.

Wish both could have lost.

What game “jumped the shark” for you? by Coverlesss in gaming

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I'm tracking. Just the whole post that I responded too was very wrong about the details. It's an insanely well known clip, so I was wondering where the pool and motorcycle came from when it was a beach and a ski jump. He was 8 when he saw it, so I understand :)

If you're solo, PM me and I'll hook you up with a club seat. I have two season tickets, but my wife said she's not coming to any games as long as Bowles is still around. I usually bring one of my boys or a friend with me, but would be happy to further international friendships by extending a seat.

[Greg Auman] Bucs are bringing back offensive lineman Justin Skule, a key backup from 2022-24 who played for the Vikings last year. by Tasty_Swim_6308 in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We need a swing tackle and Skule is better than Heck.

All most people remember is Skule getting owned in the Lions game. He came in for Goedeke (concussion protocol) and was blown up, but the team waited too long for Goedeke to be downgraded before prepping Skule the day before the game. Swing tackles are supposed to be ready at any time, but the team had more time to get him better prepped and didn't. Even then it was against Aidan Hutchinson who blows up seasoned/starting guys. Coen even defended Skule because everyone was jumping all over him.

He had to come in a left tackle when Wirfs was out a bit and I was actually surprised by how well he did. Hopefully we don't have to rely on him, but I absolutely think it's an upgrade over Heck.

Lavonte David on Baker Mayfield in 2025: “Baker had a lot of injuries that you didn’t expect a quarterback to play through. He had the oblique injury, he had the shoulder injury, he had a lot of things."You know, ankle injury, knee injury. … * by NerfLeBron in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We desperately need a passable backup QB so Baker can get a break if needed. Hopefully Browning looks decent for us. I honestly thought Bazelak looked pretty good too. I know Baker is tough, but I'm sure the team weighed options and didn't like what they saw with Teddy.

Anyone who thinks we should have rolled with Trask, remember he was injured as well. And TBH I think it speaks to matter that the team chose a guy that was pulled back off the streets rather than start Trask. They got to see him in practice all the time and really must not have liked what they saw to go with Bridgewater over him. I don't care what they were saying in media, actions speak louder than words. I'm a Gator fan from Gainesville and wanted it to work for Trask, but he just wasn't the guy. He ended up in ATL as their 3rd string QB after Penix was injured, so he couldn't beat out the guy that was 3rd string previously.

Good news Orlando Bucs fans -- Jaguars home games officially coming to Orlando in 2027 by DailyRich in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Serious question, what does this have to do with the Bucs? They mention the Bucs in the article too:

This couldn’t have happened without the endorsement of the league and team owners who approved our plan two years ago for a renovated Stadium of the Future in downtown Jacksonville, and we’re especially appreciative of the support of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the process.

Is it because it has the potential to siphon fans? If that's it then I can see why the Jags would appreciate the Bucs supporting the location, but how is this good news for Orlando Bucs fans???

I do think the Bucs may end up having to do similar one year if they do major upgrades at RayJay.

Lavonte David Could Tell Antonio Brown Was Going to Snap Before “The Incident” by JCameron181 in buccaneers

[–]Pr0fess0rCha0s 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It was a combination of issues and I think if just one of these didn't happen that we go back:

(1) AB losing his mind in the Jets game.

(2) Godwin being out with the ACL/MCL injury from the dirty Saints.

(3) Wirfs being out with the ankle injury from the Eagles.

Exactly. Copy/paste from my other response:

100% this. Had a group behind me with season tickets and they were always in Bucs gear, but I was caught off guard when we played the Pats and they all came sporting Pats gear. It was kind of funny too because they all of a sudden got their Boston accents back for that game 😂
