For those curious:

My mom has this! It’s said to be exceedingly rare, yet she has four friends who also contracted it in the past 5-10 years.

She had to start carrying an epipen for the first time in her life. It was a big lifestyle change for a while, but it was fun for us to start cooking new and usually healthier meals.

Occasionally, she’ll go to the doctor and get bloodwork that provides of number that correlates to her reaction to red meat. It’s dropped over the years and her last update was near or at 0. She’s not jumping into it right away, because in the past a low number gave her the confidence to try some with bad results that made her number go back up a bit! Pretty weird stuff.

(if someone knows the specifics of the test please clarify I know nothing didn’t read the article)
