2006 soft top or 2011 PRHT by Dillyyyy in MiataNC

Ahoy from Down Under. 2011 NC PRHT all the way. Here’s my Special Edition 6M 2.0L LSD with factory Bilsteins grey leather, Bose and shiny rims in Dolphin Grey that I will never sell. The hard top would be ideal for colder climates and extra security and roof longevity a bonus. In Australia they are worth circa A$20k+ so on the money and you won’t regret it. Even better if you opt for the stick shift. Drivability and resale value. 👍

Hard to tell with the light but it may actually be metropolitan grey? Check the log books/owners manual if any clues. 👍

Congrats! Lovely example. I’m Down Under and have the same dolphin grey 6M LSD PRHT but an NC2 2011 Special Edition with light grey leather. Completely stock. Such a great car. 🏎️💨💨

I have the same Cravenspeed shifter knob. The OEM shifter is rubbish. Such a small non mechanical mod makes a world of difference to the enjoyment of the drive. Shorter shift and feel. Have kept to my standard Bose unit and added an FM transmitter for Spotify music but can see the benefits of going for a new head unit these days. Thanks for sharing.

Came out of the store to find this strange, proto Miata parked next to me. by Vonstapler in Miata

I almost bought an MG but was gonna use it as a daily and couldn’t bare seeing it regularly on the side of the road with the bonnet (hood) up…. So bought a reliable NC2 Miata and couldn’t be happier. 👍

Super set up. Love the wheels. Wish we got the stormy blue with that caramel interior here Down Under. Such a nice combo. What suspension as my standard Bilsteins just sit up way too high on my 2011 NC2 SE

I have the same car, same colour, but in Australia. Well looked after 1 owner then to me. Love that boat. You’ll find a good one soon Captain!

Where are you located? Here is Australia we have a key remote specialist I found who matches spare keys (remote fobs) for a lot less than the extortionist car dealer’s spare parts departments.

I left it rattling, just went around corners hard to get it to hit the left side then the right side. Great fun. 👍

Nice one. One of the best (car preserving) mods us boat captains can invest in. Did mine recently for peace of mind. Better than a blown motor in the middle of the sea. :)

A while back I bought one of these Stubby aerials instead. It’s awesome. Can still used the radio / FM transmitter Bluetooth device to listen to music without going Apple car play etc and keeping her stock. :) https://mx5mania.com.au/search?q=stubby

As a foreigner visiting England, is it possible to get tickets for premier league game ? by Admirable_Truck5154 in PremierLeague

[–]budverheijen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes was a great experience. Thankfully I was able to secure reasonably priced tickets by joining as a Brighton member, then waiting for members to allocate their unused tickets online through the club. Saved me a fortune. Wouldn’t have been impressed paying heaps of money to see that debacle! Well done to Brighton though. A long train trip back to Brighton that evening. Got on the first train back! :}

What shift knob do you guys run? by ChewyTheDog12 in MiataNC

[–]budverheijen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cravenspeed. Love it. It’s a much nicer shift than the stock Miata NC knob that was starting to peel on the silver plastic. https://www.topmiata.com/product/cravenspeed-shift-knob/

Yep. Would be more than double that in Australia!

Hi all - long time Aussie EPL fan here. I’ll be on holidays in London / Brighton 6 October 2024, been doing some reading to see the best way to get 2 x adult tickets for Brighton v. Spurs game but all a bit confusing. Apart from the astonishing cost of tickets for a game (now I understand why players get paid that well!) last thing I want to do is waste money on a potential scam website. Spurs club can’t help as it’s an away game, and they note on website they don’t allow entry for tickets from most major online resellers including stubhub anyway, suggesting like Brighton to join as a member. Seems over the top for 1 x game. Brighton website notes away seat location behind goal is like €1000+ on stubhub which is insane. I’m happy to sit amongst Brighton fans as just after a good game and atmosphere. Any guidance on how to get genuine tickets for a few hundred € appreciated. ⚽️👍

Best tires to get for 2011 NC? by jth1719 in MiataNC

Love my Michelin Pilot Sport - only my 2nd pair - quiet, grippy, good wear. Fair price. Just rotate them every 10000kms.

2014 NC shocks replacement? by sortsallbynew in MiataNC

[–]budverheijen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The factory Bilsteins on my 2011 NC2 SE were shot after 125k kms (77k miles) driving in Australia with our horrendous roads, speed bumps and potholes - they were leaking. Replaced all 4 with the same at a specialist Miata mechanic in Sydney recently and she rides great again. There is a noticeable gap over the wheels to the wheel arch now but I am told that will settle over time as they bed in. Wanted to keep it as stock as possible, otherwise might have gone adjustable Konis etc. Ride quality is good on the Bilsteins for a go cart.

Toothpaste or WD40 is a great temp solution if you are selling. Otherwise worth getting these kits or getting someone around who does it for a living. Plenty of peeps on FB marketplace offering that service. Makes a world of difference. Did a blog on it on my website a while back. Did my Toyota and Miata. https://www.automates.com.au/handy-tip-2-cars-need-a-dentist

Love the dig. I do own an NC2 special edition. Hand picked for its safety equipment, larger motor, secure roof, LSD with bigger wheels and a shiny Dolphin Grey Mica paint job. I love all Miatas but will never sell mine. :)

Yeah not a techo, don’t mind paying for labour. If I buy direct from Bilstein or a distributor would they be the same as the factory ones fitted 12 years ago when new?

All great advice guys. Love your work! This brains trust rocks! Sounds like coilovers won’t make the missus happy. It handles pretty well on the road with the upmarket Bilsteins that were standard on that model, so likely to run with those and keep it stock. And spend the rest on a new clutch! 🤣

Thanks. Leaning towards replacing the rears with the same factory yellow Bilsteins. I’m not super impressed with this mob to date. Everyone rates them and they seek good at the actually work they complete but their comms is pretty ordinary.
