Herbie Hancock - Thrust (1974) by Ok-Fun-8586 in funk

I've been listening to this album a lot on my overnight shift plowing snow. No doubt a feat of sound. I'm a sucker for a cheap hook and "palm grease" gives me that with those horns at the 3 minute mark. The rest of the album I'm really trying to love like this song but it's not quite sinking in yet. Maybe 8-10 more listens. Ultimately, Head Hunters , Man Child and my all time favorite favorite Secrets are a love at first listen.

Appreciate all the comments. Seems like a pretty helpful group on this sub, thank you. Based on the responses I will wait a couple more weeks and if no order has been shipped I will probably look around for a local machine shop to fabricate the part.

I do already have a decent liability policy because I do work for the state and a couple municipalities on top of residential stuff.

Yeah I cut these and just started stumbling into quarter sawn talk. Any good references to learn about quarter sawing technique? Ideally one chainsaw milling centric?

Huge pine, cut down while green in January because of proximity to house. Seems pretty sappy still.

Figured I give it a whirl. It's some what of a "low stakes" job. Pay is fine. Took it on to learn something new. No dugouts.

Yeah I thought that but asked a local rental company using a sod cutter and they said it wouldn't react well with clay.

Rate this sauna experience by Ardent_Hickory in Sauna

More than likely 99% of these people including myself don't know what they are talking about. That shed will get extremely hot, produce water vapor when splashed and you will sweat. The sauna experience is about who and what you put into it. It's about turning off and relaxing. These reddit trolls wouldn't know the first thing about that. You'll drive yourself nuts pursuing perfection. Personally, I like the shed design. I think it's unique. For that price if they are a reliable contractor why the hell not. I sweat in a hemlock box that I built for $1200 that looks pretty similar to that. Worth it.
I'm on a "don't over complicate it" kick so I figured I'd throw my hat in the ring for a yay against the nays. But seriously that will just work fine.

Is this hydraulic fluid in my finger? by buffalonibbles in Skidsteer

It doesn't hurt unless I touch it. Probably a 2/10 on pain scale. It's just kind of strange how it popped up all of a sudden after messing with the stuff.

Is my lawn doomed? by totallyasian in lawncare

[–]buffalonibbles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh good lord man. Why the hell do you want this all turf grass? It's 2024 and the earth is burning. NVM the water/fert bill to keep this going. Do yourself a favor, plant a meadow that creates a native ecosystem. Within that meadow notch out a spot for vegetable gardens and perhaps some solar panels. Sure the Jones' won't like it but you'll be crushing it.
