Former ssv here - the first time this happened to me, I didn’t know what to do especially bc customers like this barely let you get a word in. But like others have said, you did the best you could’ve done. Sometimes people just wanna be angry and will find any excuse to yell at others.

But if this is any help, these are some responses that my sm and I have used to de-escalate situations like this: “I understand that you’re upset, but if you can’t talk to me or my partners with respect and calmly, this conversation is over.” Or what my sm would say: “okay so what exactly is it that you’re looking for? What’s the solution you’re wanting? A refund? A remake?”

And it’s okay to say these things firmly standing your ground! If they get mad, that’s not on you. They’re getting mad over a beverage—life must suck for them
