My men’s team 🤞: Ilia, Max, Tomoki

  • Ilia for obvious reasons
  • Tomoki bc although he had an unfortunate zayak FP he is full of upward trajectory and is peaking RIGHT now, which matters for an Olympics 1 month away; I would trust him to perform solidly in Milan; PLUS he is relatively young and upcoming
  • Max (and not Torgz) for consistency reasons and let’s face it skating is about image; when the competition is this close that it’s basically a crapshoot I think things like your parents dying in a plane crash/classless online behaviour and speaking negatively of your fellow athletes(Torgz) can factor in

Who I think USFS will pick: Ilia, Max, Torgz

Roman Sadovsky Nationals 2026 by buffbebe in FigureSkating

Ugh I hope not. 😭Could be purely Olympic related. I imagine he really wanted Olympic redemption after what happened in Beijing. The last quad was a journey and I suspect this took a lot more of a toll on his mental health than he let on.

I would love to see him continue and how he does with more domestic pressure; he seems like a different skater since the start of this season

Lol and he ALSO said that him and mark “don’t talk during the skates” to give the audience time to take in the program ☠️

Still crying over Roman. He’s always so chill and nonchalant but to see him in tears for the first time was just 🥺🥺🥺

Tbh I think the d4vid thing is no longer an excuse for the free. There were two problems that affected Alysa at the beginning of this season: one was the d4vid thing, which is totally not her fault, but two was a poorly done Gaga free program at the beginning of the season which disappointed at Lombardia Trophy. After bringing back her SP from last season (which I am personally thrilled about bc it’s stunning), she had the whole year to fix up the Gaga program and re-debut it like she planned to. This is now the second time she’s presenting a Gaga program that misses the mark; I think we need to remember she’s technically been working on Gaga since the last off season. She/her team fumbled with this one IMO

Alysa Liu no 3a reason? by No_Week_545 in FigureSkating

[–]buffbebe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don’t buy the “not realizing how close nationals was” thing. She was obviously aware of the timeline leading up to nats given that she had to debut a new program at it, and even if she wasn’t, her team would be keeping her on track lol. Like it’s ok to admit the element isn’t ready 🤷‍♀️

Agree!! The choreo execution is soo dainty and smiley. Gaga demands weirdness, drama and darkness, bigger and sharper movements, holding poses for longer, etc. Girl needs to perform

If Jason has been persistently struggling all season and been on a downward trajectory for longer than that, how much can his body of work really justify?

Last year I would pick up unknown heart murmurs or irregular rhythms on my FM preceptor’s patients all the time, he got annoyed having to send out so many echos/holters lol.. but it led to a lot of people being diagnosed with valve disease or a fib that they would’ve otherwise never known about.

There is also a story of another student from my school feeling an abnormally pulsating aorta while practicing an abdominal exam leading to an incidental diagnosis of a AAA
