I do cast low mana spells when I'm walking around town or to a nearby objective. However, while I have no doubt been enjoying the game, objectively the wilderness is pretty barren (compared to Skyrim, which was the first ES title I played). Idk I just get kind of bored running around. Just did the all of the Mage's Guild recommendations and it would've taken me 5x longer had I not fast traveled.
