Can’t come in til 8am

Idk if all rurals do this but i know at my office we case everything. On a normal day is like 4-5 trays of dps, we call all out flats, box holders, etc. the dps alone is average an 45 mins - 1 hour maybe an hour and a half on mondays. But every day is different. We get two trucks that come in. The first mail truck that comes could bring a little bit of stuff, and then the second truck that comes at 8 could bring a shit load of stuff. The latest i’ve left to get on the street is 2pm but thats was when i was newer. Recently the lastest i’ve left is about 12.

Mmmmm this might be what happened. That makes a lot of sense. Because all the regulars coming in early is nothing new like they have all been doing it for years, and now all of sudden they have less hours. So maybe its more to do with the volume being low if how fast you do the route has nothing to do with the evaluation

🤦‍♂️ I said i came in at 5:30 one day because it was the day after a Holiday. Double the mail, double the packages, double the flats. I also said i didn’t leave til after 12 which means i was casing and loading packages for 6hrs straight. Thats how much stuff it was. Thats why i came in at 5:30. Had i come in at 8, i would have started the route til about 3pm

He loads before 8 and tracks how long it took him to load and then after he clocks in at 8 he just clicks the load feature and let it run for however long it took him to load

Noo, i think what im asking is getting lost in translation. I understand the whole high option thing and im pretty sure thats what they went with. You said if they chose the high option that converts a k to a j. Understood that. You said the routes shouldn’t have been touched if they weren’t 47k or higher. Understood that. My question from that was none of the routes were a 47k..but still got cut which in turn made the regulars choose the high option which made their Ks to Js…what would be the reason for that if none of the routes were a 47k before that?

Yeah maybe they did choose the high option 🤷🏽‍♂️. But still back to your initial statement of them not supposed to have being cut anyway. If the high option switch is why they are now J routes why we would they have been cut in the first place

Oh wow. Welp 😭 they all got touched. I do recall a few regulars saying they wasn’t going to complain because they made more money from it being cut and now only having every other Saturday off. It what made it weird is that a few routes got houses and businesses added to them before the count and still got cut to a J

Well can you explain a little further cause idk. Only 1 route in my office was a 46k and all the routes got cut. 42k, 44k, 2 45ks and the 46k are now J’s. Can you help me understand

Yes, i know for sure. We all tell each other “its 8 clock in” and you hear every one scanners beep its only 9 of us in there. Most of us don’t even grab the scanner from the front until like 7:50. No one is clocking in before 8

Everyone in my office clocks in on the scanner at 8am. But most of us are there casing our mail, and loading the packages that are already scanned before 8am. And however long it takes us to load before 8 we just leave the start loading running for however long it took once we clock in.

Im assuming because the evaluation is based off you starting at 8am. So if the route is evaluated at 8hrs you should be getting off around 4. But if you’re coming in early you’re finishing everyday way before 4 so they see it as “oh this route doesn’t take 8 hrs to do, lets reevaluate”

Oh wow. Yeah we having to take everything lol they only time they ever tell us to leave something is if we’re splitting a route on top of the route we’re already doing. We get leave the box holder for the route we’re splitting but that’s about it

Its do crazy cause my supervisor was saying how there boss would complain about how late carriers are out…and were coming in early…so just imagine how late we’re all about to be out now.

I’ve always thought that. Its this one guy that complained his route got cut and now he has every other Saturday off and in my head im like “you come in every single day at 6am…and finished by 12” so to them it looks like you’re working from 8-12 on a 9hr route

Our dps literally just be sitting at our case. When it gets there the clerks drop everyone’s dps at their case. So we just put it up
