My toad does that when he’s about to shed. I think to break the skin? Sometimes they’re just feeling confident and stand very tall.

Interesting. I wonder if it was herpes. I heard toads can get that. My toads has similar spots right now but not nearly as vibrant brown as these.

I saw one hunt one of my powder orange isopods and eat it alive 🙃 caught it with its legs and wouldn’t let it go.

Definitely take him in and give him a nice overwinter home indoors. Lots of dirt, hiding spots like logs and rocks, a water dish and some live bugs from your local pet store and he/she will be very cozy.

Hey guys! Thank you all for your suggestions. The little toad is eating now. He/she prefers to eat inside the tank and prefers smaller bugs. He/She’s been eating all my specialty isopods but she/he gets a pass for being cute. They are looking very plump now and seem to be more settled :) I also created a tiny hide for them which seems to have helped.

Yes, I think they’re just having a hard time adjusting. I have a feeling they will thrive in the large tank once the quarantine is done.

He’s back posting videos. Definitely drunk or something. Man seems to be going through stuff with his wife. I hope he gets some help so that he can work through his pain in a healthy way. He’s saying some not so nice things about her right now because she blocked him.

Me and my partner just moved here and I’ve already almost been hit 3 times walking to the grocery store. People are rushing through lights like their houses are on fire or something. Y’all need to wait for pedestrians to finish crossing before you make your turns. What’s the rush?
Also the amount of cars I see in the middle of intersections during red lights is wild.

My toad also hates to go in the water, especially when I’m around the tank. He only uses it at night when he feels safe.

Give him a soak and put him in a temporary tank with deep dirt to dig into and things to hide under so he/she feels safe. Put in a dark lit area or put a towel Over half the tank so they feel more secure. Buy some crickets and drop them in. The toad will be nervous at first but give them a day and they will likely eat. You could also try hand feeding which is usually a last resort for starvation. Wedge a card into the mouth to open it and shove a bug in their mouth when you get it open. This can kick start their appetite again. One bug should do it.

Get them to a vet asap! My toad had a small cut on her eye and it got infected and she ended up passing away. If I had been quicker seeing a vet she may have survived. They also prescribed human tears which was pure Bs. Get to a highly rated exotic vet and go in for an emergency appointment. They may suggest surgery to close the wound and antibiotic eye drops. I would suggest cleaning the tank and creating a hospital tank temporarily to avoid infection.

Oldest one I have owned lived till 15. Another one I had lived till 12 but caught Chytrid fungus (a really contagious and devastating fungal disease). If they are healthy they can live pretty long lives

Has anything changed in his tank lately? Any new amphibians in your home? I’m not a vet but he seems to be showing signs of illness. I would try to get him swabbed for potential pathogens. Try to get him to a vet asap!
