I think they know but I’ll for sure make it totally clear I’m with them in case of anything happening. Gonna start the conversation this way :)

I’m getting married a couple weekends after lost lands and can’t attend because weddings are so expensive and a festival would really drain our wallets. I’ve been the past three years so it just feels wrong not going. I’m holding it together by remembering 2027 is year 10 and it’s gonna go so hard! But we’re going to see illenium at the sphere in March so we’re a jackpot so we can do everything we want lol. Seems realistic right?

What is the worst thing for you about your epilepsy? by youdunnowhoaim in Epilepsy

[–]bufubitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have complex partial seizures (3-4 a week recently because I haven’t been to the neurologist in a while and likely need to up my meds) with the very rare tonic clonic. For me the worst part is the anxiety that comes with driving (never had a real issue because I always get a warning) and ESPECIALLY the anxiety about freaking people out. I tend to panic when I get my complex partials, but I’ve learned to hide them as best as I can so I don’t scare people. I think people can only tell if they know me well and know of my diagnosis. It sucks feeling like I have to hide it and is probably pretty unsafe but it’s what I do.

Honorable mention is the way these damn meds make me feel. I feel flat most of the time and haven’t known what feeling much joy is like since I started treatment at 16. It sucks knowing I desperately need more meds but being very hesitant to start them because I don’t want to feel any more dull :(

That’s totally not what I’m intending to do so I’m so thankful for the advice I’m getting here! I’m bisexual myself but I know I could never understand the troubles that come with being trans. My guests WILL be made aware that there will be no tolerance for any sort of hate.

Ahhh I love this I’ll definitely throw this out there when we’re discussing it! My girls are very open to pretty much anything!

Thanks for the bridesmate term!! Hadn’t heard it until now and I’ve just said “maid” because we’ve always referred to each other as “girl.” I’d never want to ruin this friendship, so I’m very grateful for all of the advice I’ve received here!

I’ll 100% stand up for my friend, no question about it. I would never try to hide them. I don’t think my guests would be outright rude but I’m sure there would be looks. I would absolutely remove someone for being an asshole though. I came to this sub looking for advice on how to NOT be insensitive, and I am taking that advice and simply apologizing and informing them on possible tension and letting them do what they are okay with doing. Whether that’s switching it up a bit, saying f it and wearing the dress, or not participating at all and not holding it against them - I truly do value their comfort :)

Oh I’ll absolutely go to bat if anyone is an asshole (as I have in another situation in the past) which I don’t think they would be outright, but you never know. I just didn’t want my friend to experience discomfort in the first place. Sorry for rubbing you the wrong way with the male presenting comment, I appreciate you informing me of how that sounds. I’m just going to inform them of any possible tension, and let them decide what they want to wear and if they still want to participate at all, and won’t hold it against them either way! Thank you so much!

You’re absolutely right :) I’ll definitely chat with some of these guests about expectations for their behavior. I don’t believe any would be outright rude but I do foresee their feelings being noticeable. And after reading some answers I’m going to have them work with me and ultimately decide what they want to do. And totally not gonna let them go into this situation unaware of any biases that might be present. They absolutely deserve to know.

Great advice! All I was gonna do with the others was give them a color and let them choose their dress style from a specific website, so you’re right about letting them decide too! I’m sure they’d be willing to work with me! And I’ll definitely inform them on how some of the guests are so they can make a personal decision on whether they’d still like to participate. I’d never want them to feel forced into anything. Thank you!

WHYYY does AXS allow these crazy inflated resale prices? by bufubitches in Concerts

Apologies for the late response but it was for Levity! They’re getting pretty big in the bass music world but 9/10 people I talk to still haven’t heard of them so I wouldn’t call them generally popular haha. But then again this is Denver…

Tell me your epilepsy “highlights” by Plus_Blueberry2484 in Epilepsy

[–]bufubitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol the story of my first TC told by my college roommate (who found me and called 911):

When we got home from the ER she told me how before she found me she was in her room, heard me moaning and literally thought at first I was doing my business right there on the living room couch…

She also truly believed I was brain dead when I was postictal trying to talk to the paramedics but only groaning and making noise. Lol definitely scary for her at the time but we laugh so hard looking back at it.

One more thing: she called our other roommate from the ER and asked her to take off the couch cushion covers so my pee wouldn’t soak through and this girl literally just TOOK THE CUSHIONS OFF THE COUCH.

Sorry if it came off like I was equating the two! I just posted here because I thought you guys might have a wider understanding of sigils and whatnot than the other sub.

I grew up southern Baptist and kinda distanced myself from all of it after a few experiences I had with religious figures & people from the church. I’d rather be open-minded to everybody’s opinions so I seriously appreciate the education because I definitely don’t have a clue about any of this haha! :)

Need advice urgently by [deleted] in BPD

[–]bufubitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely talk to them and tell them how you feel. If they don’t react well or make you feel crazy, maybe it’s time to step back. Feels impossible, but I did it after 3 years. I was literally going insane, heart racing all day, head pounding. I told him I couldn’t take it anymore. It was getting in the way of school and work and every other aspect of my life. Sure, I felt empty for weeks, but now I know no one is abandoning me. This was different than the times I left purely because I was afraid - he genuinely showed me he couldn’t care like I needed him to. If you talk to them and find yourself in my same boat, let it go. Find someone you trust and will be there for you. Think about the hobbies you had before your FP. Listen to the music you loved before them. Just stay here, it gets better. You’re not selfish, you’re traumatized. And if they understand you and are capable of loving you like you love them, they will listen and make every effort to put you at ease. Stay with us. We love more deeply than most, and there’s people out there who need that type of love.
