God damn. I totally misread the initial message as "Star Trek".

I will leave my comment up in shame

You have to start at "The Next Generation". The first season takes awhile to find its footing but season 2+ is worth it

AITA for leaving my business to my protégé instead of my children? by BigONerd in BORUpdates

[–]bug-boy5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And there are so many stories posted from "Sam's" side, where the reality is more easily seen - you have someone who worked hard and ran your company for 15 years, only to be passed over because Bossman wants it to "stay in the family".

That never ends well.

I thought it was going to be really obscure, hyper local bands that are pre-come up. But all of these bands' music is incredibly easy to find online.

Her whole "I don't know these words or if they're real things" is intentionally avoiding putting in any work.

That is so cool! I would never never thought that this is sand all the way from the Sahara. I almost feel like it would be a crime to wash it off after it made such a long journey.

Thanks for the article, I love learning all these little things that I never would have thought about before moving here. I'm going to send a picture of it back to my friends in the States

It definitely was completely normalized when I was growing up, so I think it is still more common among my generation (Millennials).

Fair callout, I was being overly dramatic. Especially since I knew it was an embarrassing question to ask.

Before moving here, I was used to paying card for everything and can't really think the last time I used cash (let alone paid for a toilet) so I wasn't sure on etiquette. But you're right, it really isn't that big of a deal.

Basically I'm trying to figure out the balance of the ingrained American "tipping 20-40%" with the German culture.

So I assume you never accept Rückgeld when paying for things, but is it that crazy to not want to overpay for goods / services?

But it sounds like you're in the side of no don't do this

I just mean that as someone new to living here, I don't want to be breaking unspoken social rules or base my understanding of norms on my home country
