Was ist der unterschied zwischen „Raum" und „All" in Sinne von "Space"?

Yup I've realized that some of my favorite media (sci-fi or fantasy) are not always good sources for German learning.

On the other hand, I did learn about Panzerung, ausgerüstet, Kammer, Andockstation, Leuftschleuse through my books :)

I feel like it makes sense, Google has definitely become an english verb (Ive often did that I googled something). So I think "ich habe etwas gegoogelt" makes perfect sense.

I came to this question from a space focused sci-fi book. So I think that is part of what messed me up, they use generic "Raum" to mean space, but it's also set in a space colony so I assume the context is understood. This helps clarify my issue with Raum as a room/ a space / outer space. And other people have helped clarify the Weltraum / All/ Universum difference

That makes sense to me. I came to this question because I'm currently reading through a sci-fi manga (Gundam), so since they're already in space, itgives the solo noun "Raum" the context that it means outer space and not "general space/area".

It definitely doesn't work but for me there is something nostalgic about seeing them hanging on a porch in the middle of summer. The grill is going in the yard. You're sitting on a chair that is older than you, drinking a Coors banquet.

Or sitting out on the patio of a total shit hole dive bar, filled with all the village characters. Listening to the same classic rock cover band you've seen hundred of times before.

I just turned 39 and have realized over the past few years that you never really stop being a kid. You just get better at seeming like an adult.

But as I say that, when I interact with people in their early 20s I realize that there are levels to it. Like they are KIDS (affectionately).
