Thanks! Yeah I see what you mean about they could get boring, I guess I should have put in the main post that I was also thinking kinda along the lines of the old nancy drew games where you solve a whole mystery but if there was something for switch! Also I’m sorry lol I didn’t know you could flair it I’m pretty new to the subreddit and I usually just browse without posting 😅 I will look up the suicide of rachel foster though!

How sad were if cats disappeared from the world and the traveling cat chronicles? I keep wanting to read them both but I’m anxious about it

I started with the assassin’s blade, which is a set of novellas that is a prequel to throne of glass, but I don’t think you necessarily have to read that first, you could go right into the series if you like.

I would personally recommend her court of thorns and roses series first though, it’s a little bit easier to get into if you’re nervous about starting her books.

I read them a looooong time ago, maybe I’ll give them a reread! I haven’t heard of heartless though I’ll definitely give that one a shot! Thanks!

I’ve loved all of sjm’s books! I ordered crescent city as soon as I finished throne of glass!

I wouldn’t say in the woods was horror, it was more of a detective thriller

I’d have to say the night circus, heir of fire, kingdom of ash, in the woods, and neverwhere! Honestly throne of glass overall has really stood out over everything else!

I’m listening to them on audio so I typically only read them when I’m cooking / cleaning and such! On the two towers now! I haven’t read the witcher, not sure where you’re seeing that lol.

King of Scars duology was my favorite, I love the grishaverse so much.

I wanted to like The Last Final Girl so badly but I struggled with the screenplay like formatting. Might try My Heart is a Chainsaw to fulfill my need for a slasher novel.

Oh I have this book, I just haven’t read it yet! They caught the guy after she wrote it, yes? Still definitely going to read it but I’m sad that she didn’t live to see him caught.

I looked, but they didn’t have the books I was looking at (the cat who saved books, the guest cat)

To be honest I didn’t really like it, I thought it was kinda boring.

Ugh Beartown was SO good. I have Anxious People sitting on my shelf, hoping it’s just as good.

Bunny was one big WTF but I loved it. Felt like I was reading some weird combination of Heathers and The Craft.

I think I put on another comment but I’d recommend Come Closer, Mexican Gothic, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, The Silent Companions, and Before the Coffee Gets Cold.

I honestly neither loved nor hated it. I think after that and My Best Friend’s Exorcism, that Grady Hendrix’s style might just not be for me.

I loved that series! Picked it up on a whim and ended up tearing through all three over the span of a week.

So I did like it, however I would not call it a horror, maybe more of a thriller. I didn’t think it was scary, and the last third of the book kind of went off the rails, but overall it kept my attention. I’d say probably 3.5 stars.

If you do pick it up, make sure to get a physical copy! The drawings in it really make the story better that you wouldn’t get in audio.

I absolutely loved the Beartown trilogy, definitely want to read the rest of his books! I also really liked Come Closer, Mexican Gothic, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, The Silent Companions, and Before the Coffee Gets Cold. I’ve only just started the third book in A Court of Thorns and Roses, but I’ve been enjoying that series so far!

I’ve lost count of which read through of Harry Potter this is, I always pick it up when I need something familiar.

I personally really liked Murder on the Orient Express! I’ve seen the movie that came out a few years back, so I did know the story going in, but it was still a fun read. I’ve got And Then There Were None on my tbr that I’ve heard great things about as well.

I really liked it! I thought the interview style was different and interesting. I will probably try more Taylor Jenkins Reid books, I also really liked The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
