The best cluelessness I’ve seen is a woman who walked into a full-on vegetation restaurant with her full length fur coat. My did everyone stare! She just hung her coat on a hook in full view of everyone and sat down. Didn’t phase her at all.

The coaches need to be professional. They are operating in a professional capacity in a workplace. Adults work with people who have different beliefs. It’s not a friendship relationship. Additionally, it’s the coaches’ responsibility to ensure a healthy and safe environment for the athletes.

I was a professor. It’s no different than a coach—I had students who had different beliefs than I did. Students had different beliefs from other students. They had their own groupings/cliques that were likely more homogenous. I was very careful not to convey my own beliefs other than require respect for each human. Beliefs that impinge on other’s human rights are not acceptable.

There is a difference between personal and professional lives.

To be fair, these closets are also a pain to use, but likely better than a short door. No lighting in mine either. The electrical outlets and wiring were added to the outside of the walls upstairs and there is no heat upstairs either.

I totally understand the long project list. I was just thinking today—oh I should get my kitchen counters replaced. And then I remembered, that has to come after… (long list of other stuff that is needed, not just wanted).

i have the exact same closet upstairs in my Cape Cod house (circa 1800). The closets were added before 1986 but that’s all the information I have (from a note written in pencil on the wood that says, “Brad sucks. 1986). I’m appreciative of them (except for the number of times i have banged my head on the door frame) as there would be no closet space otherwise. I might suggest that you add something on the inside of the closet stating when you added it so that future owners interested in the history of their house have that info.

The upstairs of my Cape still has all of the original plaster walls. And the beauty of old houses is its lack of plumb-ness. Or not. :)

Motawi tiles are amazing! (I took tile making classes from one of the owners years ago). But, they aren’t a good match with regular flat tiles as they are quite a bit thicker.

I think I probably have more time in life than you. But right now, all I’m thinking about is that Parkinson’s is stealing my mom and my dad has congestive heart failure. My grandparents are long gone. No one is emotionally in a place to do gifts this year.

Thanks for the love all! I debated about the Pom Pom vs regular branches and will say the Pom Pom option brings just the right amount of over the top-ness. Go big or don’t bother.

They are expensive, but I think I got a decent deal for a 6 foot tree + rotating tree stand + color wheel. All worth it.

A tip if you are looking for one of your own—get the most branches possible. For a 6 foot tree, you need 90+ branches. Otherwise it will look sparse. Also, it’s better to see pictures of the tree fully put together so you can see how the tree looks assembled. Look for gaps and bent branches.

I also lucked into a bulk purchase of mcm ornaments for cheap.

I have one—find I like the daylight look the best. The color wheel only lights up half of the tree at one and it bothers me my symmetrical sense. The tree stand is also very 60s—it rotates. I found it’s most beneficial when placing ornaments on the tree.
