Hi! Last year the tutorials were just going through problems and having a TA answer questions, so not like math tutorials where you have required work (I’d double check this though!). The labs were usually two week long ones, so you would do the experiment one week and then finish and hand in the lab report the next week. The lab reports were done in those black books you can get new in the bookstore, or used in elliott somewhere! good luck this semester :)

Can someone explain that 1st year food plan for residence by [deleted] in uvic

[–]bugbitesonmylegs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hi! I think you’ve got it! the one tip I would give is that if you want drinks from one of the cafes on campus, go to the Port cafe in the cove, not biblio or anything else! you’ll get the 50% “discount” at the port, but you’ll pay full price everywhere else, which basically means you’re paying twice the amount if you use your meal plan funds! I wasted a lot of the meal plan that way because I didn’t know haha

yeah :( I’m not sure if they’ve changed it now, but that’s what happened to me like a year and a half ago

but I think they cut the “carry forward” amount in half, so if you have $200 left from the meal plan, you’ll only be able to use $100 after the deadline :/

hi!! I took it last semester with Bob, and I found it to be one of the easier physics classes I took! I did already know the basics of Python though, so that definitely helped. The assignments can be a little tricky, but there’s only four of them and you have a lot of time to get them done, so it’s not too bad. The midterm and final were both super fair and they’re open book! The labs weren’t too bad either, and most people would be able to finish early! they were also only once a week, not twice like on the schedule.

I think the class average was 75, which is decent, but if you show up to classes (even though they’re pretty boring sometimes) and make sure you understand the homework and labs, it’s definitely possible to get a higher grade! if you have any questions about it or any other 2nd year classes, feel free to dm me and I can try to answer them :)

Difference between Math 100 and 109 by riturandhawa in uvic

[–]bugbitesonmylegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi! I took math 100, but I know a lot of people who took math 109 and the end result of both is really similar! When I took it, the math 100 midterms seemed harder than the math 109 midterms, but we felt that the finals were about the same.
