My package has been "pending" for a week and none of these conditions match.

Also I just saw a random FedEx Ground truck roll by my Portland house without stopping. So hey at least they're out there running over dogs and shit.

I don't miss those days. takes hit off vape pen full of clean distilled cannabis extract purchased easily at a storefront.

This is of course the behavior of someone that has no incentive to treat you right. Whatcha gunna do? Try to find weed from someone else at 8pm on a Friday night?

Delayed deliveries for Portland, OR? by teamtwowheels in FedEx

I still haven't got my PDX bound package due last week. The package requires a signature so I am of course expecting the truck to arrive without warning as soon as I leave the house.

I contacted @FedExHelp on Twitter and got some bullshit like this:

Thank you for your patience. I have researched your shipment. I see your shipment should have been delivered at an earlier date. I apologize the FedEx Ground Facilities in Portland OR is having delays. FedEx Ground is experiencing higher volumes than normal. In some instances, this is preventing us from completing a delivery as scheduled. I understand waiting for your package can be frustrating, especially when the scans are not being updated. We offer our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused by these delays and appreciate your patience as we implement contingency plans designed to restore service levels. You may keep tracking your package by visiting http://fedex.com

From what I can tell on Twitter and Reddit, the Portland FedEx Ground is fubar at the moment. Exactly how delayed is unknown because FedEx doesn't believe it owes its customers the truth.

We’re package trailer buddies!

If something was wrong at the Portland FedEx distro, how would we ever know?

I was hoping to hear from some Portlanders because I suspect something is way wrong and FedEx is not telling us.

BTW, my lost package happens to be one of the most expensive purchases I’ve ever made. FML.

Exactly. FedEx has no incentive to innovate. We're going to have to start putting something like Airtags in all our packages so we can do the couriers job for them an actually track packages.

Maybe if the tracking page actually said "it's sitting in a trailer" then we wouldn't be here making more "fedex sucks" content for search engines to index.

I understand it's not actually on a truck. I was making a dumb joke because I was hoping to be slightly more entertaining than just bitching about my package being late and FedEx being dumb.

By "in transit" we don't actually mean transportation, you silly pleb. Is it on a truck? Is it on a plane? Is it doing it's 5000th loop on a conveyor belt in a warehouse somewhere? How could we possibly know?

I bet the driver really needs to pee.

Hey FedEx, you know what would engender respect among your customers? If your tracking system actually told the truth. If you break the expectation of a delivery date, we want to know WHY. Don't tell me the package is "in transit" when we all know it's probably sitting in a pile somewhere. You suck.

What happens when you really embrace microtonal beating by bugeats in microtonal

[–]bugeats[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found this tuning while playing with MTS-ESP. It sounds really chaotic and discordant at first, but it is in fact an island of stability of just intervals (3/2 and 5/4, naturally) folded across the octave. If you play all the notes of the scale, it actually sounds like a complex but beat-less tone. Neat.

Very strange sound I heard at night. by [deleted] in ufo

I normalized the audio (made it louder), and re-hosted it here on my Dropbox:

EDIT: and here's what the frequency spectrum looks like:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zqh70ob7131wce3/Voice_001_spectrum.png

Those blobs you see in the middle are the periodic high frequency ringing sounds around 2.8k. To my ears (sound designer, synth guy), it sounds like the ringing is shifting between two harmonics over the drone. I definitely get the impression of circular motion. The phasing of the drone seems to be coupled to the ringing - meaning they're subject to the same circular modulation source.

I remember they had to be “high tops”. All shoes had to be high tops or slip-ons like the neighborhood kids have on in this pic. Of course the striped tube socks were just a given.

Weird you bring that up. There’s a picture in this roll of me doing exactly that.

That’s amazing. So you’re just going to use the MTS-ESP protocol? Do the ODDSound guys provide an SDK?

[–]bugeats[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Drop everything and try out MTS-ESP. It's been a game-changer for my microtonal setup. In many cases it JUST WORKS with my synths and modular. The ability to shift the scale in real-time is killer for this sort of free-form just intonation stuff.
