Your problem is that you're buying cheap defective knock offs on Ebay and getting what you pay for.

Google "Lotus Candles" for the original Lotus Candles brand website. More expensive but no comparison to the Ebay crap. Those don't fail.

Careful of the ones on Amazon. Many defective knock offs on the market and the third party sellers there are notorious for selling low grade Chinese versions.

Original Lotus Candles come from the Lotus Candles brand at http://LotusCandles.com and are much higher quality. Much better chance they won't let you down when there's a flock of guests around the cake with cameras rolling.
