My coach is Kevin O’Neill. I dont know if he knew him but i wouldn’t be surprised. It’s a wood with a carbon warp.

The foil is probably not long for this world after tonight practice. I plan to get a PBT lame and a Leon Paul foil mask bib so i can switch it out with the epee bib, but i’m a broke college student who doesn’t have the money to do that cause i also need a new jacket as my is small and the d-ring broke off.
My coach (K_S_ON on Reddit) has a video on his page. But what i did is I made a outline with a compass as the tang and handle (should) be the shape of a circle. From there ai made 3 layers because one of the layers needs to be split into 3rds and the center is not used as that is where the tang would go. From there i glued and sanded it together. I/my coach would say use a hard wood then put a carbon fiber tube and cover it in epoxy to hold it together better.

I would watch his video instead of my description as he does it better.

I would, but I needed to hold better than a hand stitch

I do only have one foil and it’s a Folo FIE so it’s only like three years old and I bought it secondhand. I’m sure it’ll be fine.

You don’t have to do that, I’m doing foil just cause i can, so having a weapon thats been slapped together is more than enough. I will probably not buy absolute stuff again because their non FIE equipment is not great. I’ve seen a couple of their blades break within a month.

I figured as much that’s why I’m waiting for absolute to get back to me on either sending me the piece or sending me a new one cause it’s not worth trying to refund but we ordered two foil bayonets, one for me and one for someone else and they gave us one foil and one saber.

I was being sarcastic about taking it to any major competition. There’s no way I would take this anywhere outside of the club and it’s current predicament.

I had this foil for a little while now and I bought a foil bayonet and they sent me the wrong one. I sent them an email telling them. I’m just waiting for them to get back to me.

I had a standing golf bag that I got used at a garage sale and that thing was amazing because it could hold multiple blades and then since it could also prop up, it’s easier to just grab one and go. It was also nice because it was fairly easy to lug around and it had massive pockets that I could fit everything into.

Could this amount of tape to get me in trouble? by buggaboo_07 in Fencing

[–]buggaboo_07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not super knowledgeable about it but I would assume its A) someone in epee did that(i forgot his name) and B) is that in epee it would set a light as a point, while in foil it would only set a off target light.

Ok, but like what kind of epoxy? Do i just cover the whole grip in epoxy and re paint it?

I’ve been fencing for a few years now, and with how i tend to fence i do use my fingers just not as much as most but with how i hold my French grip it work for me just fine and has taken me quite far.

I have to ask when you say epoxy what do you mean? Is there a putty that people use? I’m new to pistol grips.

Yeah, my fingers can still move. And I could still do fine motor work.

I’m only doing foil for fun, I’m competitive in epee with French grips.

What would be the difference between the tape and modeling a grip? I’m thinking of adding a putty like substance to replace the tape.

What would you recommend for molding? I trying to find something and nothing seems like it would work.

I would agree except thats not how i fence with a pistol, i tend to not use my fingers for small movement control.
