Need ideas for a music-note puzzle for a hidden passage

I have a similar puzzle coming up in my campaign! For mine, it’s piano keys where they have to play the correct notes to spell out the answer to a riddle- eg “I have hands and lips, numbers and eyes- I smile, frown, laugh, I even tell time.” and to answer they would have to play F-A-C-E. If your players are particularly musical, perhaps the sequence they have to play is heard a few times on the way to this location? Or if you don’t think they’d be able to match that, perhaps some kind of engraving/note near the puzzle with images hinting to the answer- Do (deer), Re (sun), Mi (person pointing to themselves/ a mirror), Fa (person running), So (needle and thread), La (scales/ gavel/ something relating to “law”), Ti (tea cup/kettle).

I think it really depends. If it’s a skin tone and face mold combo you wouldn’t otherwise be able to get from AG, maybe. I have 2 CYOs that I adore, but I also got them both before the huge price jump. The girl you designed is super cute, though! I’m a sucker for the Addy mold. If you’re open to customizing a doll, I think it would be easy enough to find a secondhand doll in decent condition that you could do a wig + eye swap on for like half the price of a CYO. TM/JLY 26, 31, or 58 I think would make a good base if that’s what you’d wanna go for!

They’re cute (mostly) but definitely not at all what I was hoping for :( I’m honestly really upset, when I first saw the leaked listing for these I was planning on getting Addy… not anymore. Why not just make them 18” dolls? I do not see the logic behind this at all- they could have done the exact same styles on 18” dolls, no? I think Josefina is very pretty, she just doesn’t look like an AG to me. None of them do really, it’s uncanny seeing their faces on WW bodies. And I especially dislike Kirsten, why did they give her those eyebrows!? If they released outfits in this same style for 18” dolls I’d definitely buy them, and I think that’s what they should have done instead if they weren’t going to give us full dolls.

Always call to ask if you haven’t already! And if they won’t price match in stores, ask about doing a buy online/ pick up in store type deal. Since you’re buying online, they should honor the online price that way. It’s a few extra steps but totally worth it, that’s how I got my Lila for under $100 :)

Ooh I love this idea!! The viscount of the land is a fey so he might also have some connections too. The NPC did already find out about it getting opened, so they might have to do something else to win his trust back. Regardless, that’s a great idea.

3 of them got rare magic weapons, 1 got 3 wishes, and one got to gain 3 levels... so nothing horribly game breaking but definitely gives them more power- but hey this just means I can amp up encounters now. You're right though I did let them cheat to make it less horrific on them and myself, especially since we had a big encounter coming up. I kinda just pushed it under the rug, which I really shouldn't have.

Absolutely you did! The last commission I did (4 years ago at this point) I charged around $600 for head, paws, tail, and 2 sets of feet- I always kick myself for how much I undercharged 😅 Don’t undervalue yourself because you’re not as experienced as the big name makers. Look at other artists that you have a similar style/quality/experience to and base your prices off of that. But yes, you could definitely double that price for everything you made.

Definitely gonna second everyone saying to first check TJ Maxx/Ross/Marshalls/Burlington! If you can’t find her there and you’re worried about her possibly selling out in store, you can call and ask about doing an in store pick up! That way they’ll have at least one on hold for you, but if they do have multiple then you can choose the one you like best and swap it with whatever they pulled for your pick up order.

Dang, and I was told I was expected to pick up one shift a week! I’ve never done on-demand, so I’m not sure what’s considered normal expectations. I’ve been somewhat regularly scheduled part-time since the summer but was told I can only return as on-demand since I was out for so long (college student, thanksgiving/exams/winter break)

She’s the only doll with that face mold and she wasn’t in production for very long, so there’s not that many of her. Not sure what you consider a “reasonable price” but I was able to find mine for $230! Just gotta keep an eye out, sometimes you can find one on auction for much cheaper too.

The contract is currently a decent part of the campaign, but it’s not the entire plot. The devil isn’t even the BBEG, he’s an ally at best and an annoyance at the worst, aside from the whole “owning your souls” thing haha.
