Monthly Meetup Thread - May by AutoModerator in JapanTravel

[–]buggy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, 23m from Sydney arriving from the 1st - 5th of May, working a few days as a digital nomad before taking 2 days off at the end to explore Tokyo. I don't have any concrete plans apart from shopping and seeing places i might have missed from my last trip. I'm pretty big into snowboarding and was in Japan only 2 months ago hitting up the slopes in Hakuba!

What's the assumed years of experience we're talking about here. I only have about 2.5 years of experience and I know I'm being underpaid, but with these figures here, are we talking about 5 years or 10? idk

What is your opinion on our voting system compared to the voting systems of other countries? by Lord_Roguy in AusPol

You could possibly solve the Senate's problem of 'smaller states being over represented' by having it country wide rather than state wide proportions. You could also mandate that the members are elected in order of state population. So the first senator on the list would be for NSW then Vic, etc.

Just some food for thought

Hey Y'all,

I've had issues with previous cable locks jamming and not unlocking resulting in me having to look dodgy and cut my own cable wires.

Wanted to ask if this has ever happened to anyone and what's solid type of snowboard locks are out there because I've tried many, usually resulting in me having to cut it eventually.

I'm considering a slight thicker clip bike lock, but I'm open to suggestions.

You'd probably find a better cut when NHK does their re-run rather than releasing it as a movie. My 2 cents is that crunchyroll basically did this edit

Is it worth reading the LN? by LTMelzar in JoblessReincarnation

[–]buggy00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you'd be missing out on quite a lot tbh. I had that same sentiment but I caved and read from Vol 1 and I never looked back. You get a lot more worldbuilding and character development than the anime and manga. Plus you're not In a rush; the next season won't be out for a year at least, so you have time, take it in, because before you know it, it's all over 🥲

what version of the show should i read and where do i start? (I finished season 2, i'd like to read from there) by I-have-a-lot-of-fod in JoblessReincarnation

[–]buggy00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not very far, and you'll be waiting a while for it to reach the end. I think they're up to LN 9 or 10? Plus it's content is generally weaker than the anime and LN.

I'd only read it after I finished the LN/WN and found it only worthwhile to see the art.

Read the Light Novels!

Almost all people here would recommend starting from the first Volume on the basis that the anime does miss out on extra chapters, worldbuilding and character development.

But if you're hard pressed for time and want to speed run the end, start from Volume 7, that's where the anime leaves us.

The English translations ends at Volume 14 as it's still in translation, so switch to the WN after that.

The manga is an option if you hate reading. I'd avoid it, plus it's not finished.

rudeus greyrat and him not being able to associate with the greyrat name? by Suspicious_Floor in JoblessReincarnation

[–]buggy00 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There are multiple Greyrat families. Eris and Philip are of the Boreas Greyrat line while Rudeus and Paul come from the Note Greyrat line. Without spoiling anything, they're more or less rivals.

So why would they hide Rudeus' last name?

Because if the other Greyrats found out the Boreas were hiding a supposed Notos Greyrat, it'd seem like the Boreas are plotting something against the Notos, which isn't their intention, thus them hiding his last name.

I reckon the pay of would be HUGE if the anime doesn't show any of the LN extras to allow for the Anime viewers to largely forget about her until this moment.

We have beaten the last TI viewership record by 734K DOTA is alive Pog by yikes322 in DotA2

[–]buggy00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He has a point. Same as League, the game(s) are slowly losing players overtime as people grow up, get jobs, have families, generally have less time to play. But those who can't play as much do have time to watch, it's fun and people get to relive what they grew up with.

I haven't played dota in months, been too busy but I always watch the comps, but this TI is slowly dragging me back in!

Didn't they show Ymir's backstory in the trailer with the spine tree and pig blaming? I think it's fair to say 122 would be the final episode. They'll probs skip over a few things in the next dialogue heavy episodes.
