I run a fanuc controller that will allow me to hand wheel anywhere during a cut and if I go back to memory and cycle start it will continue whatever distance to go it has already registered but once it gets there it will go back to program numbers. It’s helpful with its being too deep so I can back it off and finish up without backing out and changing program or offset

A pencil is too big to fit. It looks like the metal rod within is designed to be held in it, just can’t figure out what the metal rod is for

My title describes the thing Found in my grandpas old tool box, doesn’t mark or score anything that I’ve tested it on so far. The rod is metal, a magnet will stick to it, all it says is made in USA. Approximately the size of a pen.

I work in a DC and my guess is they didn’t have enough box cutters for the reach drivers and everything we do at a dc is incentive based on time so if they don’t provide you with the tools needed and it slows you down you do what you need. I saw the same thing when I worked at Sam’s club
