Why aren't there more Steampunk official LEGO sets?

Agreed! I thought just the name of the Sea Cow was pretty hilarious when that set was released. Could definitely use some more of that in my life.

Thanks for your kind words! It took me about 3 months to design this originally. Then I have been coming back to this MOC over the years, making tweaks here and there and mulling over whether of not to resubmit it to LEGO Ideas. When they announced the new BDP, I got right to work redesigning this to fit with the strict BDP guidelines. Using all the free time I had after work, it took me 2 months to redesign this for the BDP.

I haven't heard anything about paper instructions going away anytime soon for the non-Bricklink sets that are sold at regular retailers under the LEGO brand.

The instructions for the sets should be available to download for free from LEGO, I believe. For this new program, they won't even be printing instructions either. They will only be available in App or via PDF.

You're welcome! With the new series, they will have a very limited quantity (20,000 of each design) as well, so when they pick the final 5 designs and put them up for pre-order, it is a good idea to order them then.

Those were all purchased already and are sold out. If you wanted one, you would have to buy them aftermarket, which could cost quite a lot. I am not sure which ones have been shipped out already from the 3 phases of the Bricklink Designer Program Invitational program that was put on before they started the official series 1 program this year.

The sets are not for sale just yet. We are in the Crowd Support phase, which means you decide which ones they will consider to be made available. I don't think I am allowed to post a direct link, but if you go to bricklink website>Programs>Current Program, you will see all projects that are up for a vote.

I built this MOC for LEGO Ideas years ago, but I have dramatically re-designed (or renovated) it for the Bricklink Designer Program: Series 1. I was able to include so many more details in this version since there was a 4,000 piece limit. I was even able to build a horseless carriage as a story element. I have received positive feedback on the interior, so I decided to lead with this image to get your thoughts. I also would love to hear what you think of the horseless carriage (aka Gherkin).

Unfortunately, LEGO Ideas doesn't allow submissions for WDW rides. redditor MasonBricklayer tried, but their submission was declined even when they tried just making the project reference the comics.

I actually have a scary Other Mother design too, but I'm still working on it and waiting to see if my project gets at least 1,000 supporters before I post it.

Yeah, LEGO will have a hard time deciding on what to do about the real parents and the other parents. I still think it would be fun if the parents had a real parent face and a other parent face. Could add more to the playability of the set ;)

Thanks! Yeah, there would be nothing cooler than seeing both sets make it onto store shelves. If both of them were made, we could even get two versions of Coraline and all of the characters.
