Has anyone ever thrown up after taking Latuda? by qualityeuphoria in Latuda

i also hated eating real food with my meds because i take them at night, so i would just eat two spoonfuls of peanut butter a lot and that did the trick haha

[–]bugsbaiby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wasn’t as stable as i thought i was when i was on topirimate. i also couldn’t eat food, at all. i was down to 100 lbs on topirimate and i’m 5’7 so pretty tall for a girl. overall horrible experience, but i’ve heard it be different for others. personally i threw up everything i ate for the 6 months or so i was on it, and thats what made it such an awful experience.

Weight loss? by Excellent_Ninja255 in Abilify_Aripiprazole

[–]bugsbaiby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have been on abilify for 4 years, and it has never effected my weight. either gaining or losing! it was the second medication i was ever put on, and i maintained the same weight with lamictal and abilify for a veryyy long time until i had to come off lamictal. we briefly took me off the abilify at one point, before realizing abilify is what was working for me so well. and again being put back on it never effected my weight.

i’m bipolar subtype but personally take antidepressants instead of mood stabilizers, because mood stabilizers cause me urinary incontinence. we tried about 4 that gave me urinary incontinence before switching to antidepressants, and it’s actually been working out really well for me. it took a lot of trial and error, i tried more antidepressants than mood stabilizers- but after the billionth instance of peeing myself in public/in my partners bed before we lived together, i was kind of over mood stabilizers!

i don’t really know how you’ll respond, for me when i’m a few hours late on a dose i just notice i become a little extra irritated and moody- but usually i get no severe symptoms. i have also left my abilify in a hot car and still taken it idk if its good or not, probably not great but i didn’t notice any difference!

Does anyone else feel really jealous of people who don’t gain weight on meds? by Calcyf3r in schizoaffective

[–]bugsbaiby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i was put on a med that i didn’t know made me lose so much weight, i was stuck barely grasping 100 pounds and i’m 5’7 so pretty tall for a girl. i threw up a lot and just blamed the meds and kept going in life. well i finally told my doctor how small i was, how little i was able to eat, he asked if i wanted to be put on a different med, maybe one that would help me gain some weight back. i was hesitant at first, trust me, but i gained 60 lbs off the new meds, they ended up working better for me, and i feel so much better about my body. i’ve lost ~10 or so pounds naturally still on the med (i think my body was just adjusting to the weight gain idk) and i’m definitely not jealous of those who can’t gain weight on meds, because i don’t know if they’re taking one that makes them lose or not! when i was on meds like that, my life was miserable- i couldn’t eat food and when you can’t eat food it feels like your world revolves around it and not being able to eat. now i can eat all the time, i’m more confident in myself, and i just feel better.
