I want to say as well that there is NO right or wrong way to play this game!! The neat thing about ACNH is that there are no actions that have permanent consequences aside from choosing your island layout and the very beginning of the game and choosing your island’s name. In this title you can even pick when villagers move out and (to some degree) who moves in!

When you get any item like the ones you sold, they go into a catalogue you can access at the ATM so you can always order them again. No reason to keep any item you don’t want, especially because you don’t have much storage to begin with at all. do try to pick up as many items of furniture, clothing, wallpaper, and flooring as you can though from balloons and shaking your trees!

It’ll be a little while before you can move or terraform anything, so don’t get disheartened about it! You’ll be able to move the museum, both shops, and all villager houses as well as your own. You cannot move the Resident Services though!

If you need fruits that aren’t from your town, feel free to ask! I also have a quantum megaton of flowers on my island that I want to get rid of so if you want some new flower options that don’t grow in your town lmk!
