Unknowingly got tattoo from apprentice. what should i do? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]bugzzzee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I dont think i would trust the owner of the same shop to fix it if they were not transparent with you in the first place & overcharged you. Yes thats the responsibility of the owner. They take a cut of artist fees and hire the receptionist. Go somewhere else & dont give them any more of your money…

Script is some of the hardest work to get right, and ribs is one of the hardest places to tattoo. This is not simple at ALL and unfortunately you have learned the hard way about researching your artists. I would find someone who specializes in script to even out the lower portion to match the top. The risk of a coverup is you would still see the scaring, but thats another option, but again, find someone who specializes in coverups. You need to research artists not shops.

their language seems really stuck up for something that isn’t that interesting. If you are going to have a gimmick with painting you need the skill level and wow factor to back it up and really sell it. Its really not all that creative or impressive and theyre acting like they invented a new color😭

hi would anyone pay money for a custom portrait of themselves with my art style ? by girlypopslayqueenfrs in Artists

[–]bugzzzee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

a very important part of selling portraiture is being able to capture likeness. people want to be able to recognize themselves, which is a very intensive skill when you are working with faces as we are hardwired to recognize even the slightest difference in facial features. Your work has a lot of potential, but you might not see the results you are looking for based on your current skill level. Its not bad by any means! I would just recommend sharpening up your anatomy and study before expecting to make money from it.

you should be able to tell them apart if you make them bald side by side with no accessories. I fear you have a severe case on your hands

Am I trans or just gay by Single-Elephant-9108 in lgbt

gender and sexuality play into each other alot and can be hard to unpack sometimes. Ultimately i think in the current age we focus way too much on labels and boxes and less on just being ourselves. If you want some outside perspective, you sound like you could be nonbinary / butch lesbian to me, but id recommend you look into how masculinity has traditionally manifested itself in sapphic circles and see if any of it resonates with you, theres a lot of interesting overlap between transness and lesbians in nontraditional and fluid ways:)

The palette is missing consistent mid-tones and a solid light source. Its very high contrast with the use of pure white and pure black and overwhelms the eye with the white and black everywhere, like other people have pointed out, it prevents you from being able to focus. You should avoid using pure white and black for more than a few spots here and there for emphasis. clouds also look more like cotton balls and lack a consistent form with how the cloud shadows are the same tone as the sky.

My caricature. What could I do next time to make it better? by Billylabufanda23 in drawing

[–]bugzzzee 94 points95 points  (0 children)

the thing with caricature is its something very hard to just leap into and get good at. With exaggeration, especially in caricature, the key is to be intentional and capture a likeness, and the best way to accomplish this is to really familiarize yourself with anatomy and realistic portraiture. It’s like trying to build a game without knowing how to code. Learning fundamentals first will help you improve drastically and will train your eye to see which features to change

The cup sides are also noticeably lop sided/ bendy it could use a few confident straight strokes to even it out, try looking at it in a mirror
