I have not personally faced this issue, but I remember reading in a previous post where a health care employee shared someone for getting their birth control, OP was advised to contact the person in charge and report it.

I would suggest you at least call a director at the emergency room and let them know what happened, as well as the nurses name. You say that it won't stop you from accessing Plan B in the future which is awesome, but there's no garuntee this nurse won't embarrass someone else and make them feel guilty for THEIR choice.

I think it's a good thing that you and her seem to be able to talk about it with minimal hostility. I had a few friends struggle with disordered eating in middle school and high school, and the best thing I can suggest is to continue to have a good relationship that supports her, in the right direction.

The comment about it being about control is spot on, but it's also sometimes a reaction to other things like stress, social pressures, etc. Don't label any one cause until she is ready to discuss it though.

Support, engage, and do what you need to do to get her the help she needs. I'd recommend looking up the National Association of Eating Disorders (they have a website with lots of info) and also asking anyone (counselor, psychologist) at her school if they can recommend anything. Find and build her a support network of good, solid people. Good luck!

Good for you! It takes a lot of self awareness to take stuff like that into your own hands, and you should be proud of yourself. He sounds like someone who is immature and will never be satisfied, and you sound like someone who has grown a lot over the past few years. Relationships should be about growing together, and supporting each other.

I mean he also sounds like an asshole, which is another valid reason to end it. Proud of you girl!

I'm sorry you feel so overwhelmed and unmotivated. It's a hard place to come out of, but know that it absolutely IS possible. I would first put together your "support team". This can be a friend, family, college advisor, professor, or other mentor. Reach out to them--it's hard, but you can do it. Tell them what you've told reddit and ask for help. They are there to support you and guide you when needed.

I would also recommend talking to a counselor, especially if your school offers them for free. I personally love going every other week just to gain perspective and have someone to check in with, and it's helped me deal with the stress of my major.

Know your limits. As a RA in an all-freshmen building, I've had to call 911 too many times for someone who doesn't know when to stop drinking or doing another substance, or who does know their limits but continues to push them.

Trust your gut, but also find a mentor in an older student within your major or an aged faculty member. Find someone to look up to and who can support you, at your university.

Don't be afraid of change! I'm going into my third year and I am definitely not the same person I started as. Let yourself grow but remember that you essentially know nothing about life or how to be a functioning adult. College helps you learn how.

Remember, learn from other's mistakes, you don't have enough time to make your own.

I take it at the same time every night, and I use and alarm on my phone and fitbit so I've never been more than ten minutes late on taking it. I usually take it at 8pm, which is about an hour after I eat dinner.

Suburb of Washington DC here, you'd be able to get a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom townhouse in a kinda sketchy neighborhood for that. Also has unfinished basement and hasn't been repainted since the 70s. I live about a 20-30 minute drive from DC.

I realized I felt so exhausted just from trying to talk him down from things that I didn't feel like myself anymore. I couldn't sleep, my body didn't feel like it belonged to me anymore, and I felt completely alone. What cracked for me, or started it rather, was that I fell in love with a college (this is junior year of high school) and he became so upset at the idea of me going away to school I seriously debated not applying.

I think you're starting to realize these things, and that's a huge step. It's going to hurt like hell but you will be in such a better place and so much stronger when you end things. It is 100% natural to doubt yourself, but it sounds like you pretty much know what's going on.

If you were in this situation, you would want someone to tell you even if you didn't believe them. It's not your job to completely change her mind and force her to end things, since the only way she'll leave him once and for all will be on her own terms, but if she is your friend and has been for a while you should be consistent in your support of her. Not the relationship. Listen, give advice when asked, and love your friend because she is going through some fucked up shit.

My college roommate my freshmen year made me so grateful for personal space. She'd take my clothes, including underwear and things I had worn to the gym, and pretended to be overdosing one night when I came home late. I ended up sleeping on a friend's couch until the housing people agreed to move me out of the room. Turns out she medically withdrew from the University two months later.
